Downgrade to 902 - No app or data loss

4.3 release

Get the 4.3 patch and install it over any 4.x install. Nothing huge here.

o) When doing the push update function (option 1) we check for the existence of the sdcard and dump you OUT of the House if one isn't found.
o) If a recovery.img already exists, hide the option to pull it from the phone.

If you FXZ to 905 you need to make sure you have data working there BEFORE updating to 232.

OK, I'm back to 905 and everything works.

I'm supposed to use the REINSTALL function for 232, right?

Then once it flashes, and the RSD program closes, (phone still in fast boot) is it safe to unplug the phone from the computer? House of Bionic is finished at that point, right?

Then I proceed with turning the phone off, then holding both volume buttons and turning it on, etc, correct?

Um, no, if you're on 905 you're doing an install of 232. :)

And yes you CAN unplug it, but, if you're wanting root I wouldn't.

If you are running stock 905 and everything is working correctly you have 2 options:

Easy way #1) Run the HOB script to install the ICS leak; use Sam's utilities to restore root, etc.
Old way #2) Root with Motofail while on 905, protect root with OTA Voodoo; update to an ICS leak of your choice thru android recovery menu, ICS file to be dropped on the SD-EXT root directory.

Just remember 232 allows you to go back to 905; 235 and higher kicks you off GB forever.

OK, so if I'm on 905, it's always an INSTALL? The REINSTALL is if I get 232, but it doesn't work correctly?

The last time through the process, install didn't work, but reinstall would. But I think that's because I forgot to check to see if USB debugging was checked after I went back to the wiped version of 905.

Right, INSTALL is always used to install the version you want to go to. REINSTALL is for when you're already there, something happens, and you want to fix it. For 232 REINSTALL is never necessary since you can FXZ back. For 235+ REINSTALL is critical.

Oh the media update thing. Yea, that can take a LONNNNNGGGG time. You will need to fix that AP Fastboot error though. It'll do that every time you reboot the phone until you fix it. I would extract the cdt.bin from the 232 update in the 232 folder and flash that with moto-fastboot:

Reboot into AP Fastboot then run this command after extract the cdt.bin:

moto-fastboot flash cdt.bin cdt.bin

Cool, thanks man, I'll try that once this thing finishes upgrading the f'n media database. It's been going for 6 hours. I'm tempted to kill it but am slightly afraid to as I've seen references from people that did kill it and had issues with media related functions later.

Yea it breaks stuff if you kill it. Not a great idea.

Ok. I just saw a picture of it on the atrix and i liked the clock weather and battery life setup. Reminds me of the htc sense clock but with more separation.

Here's the latest trouble I'm having:

When RSD is flashing to the phone, under status it starts out 1/6..., then about as soon as it changes to 2/6, it closes. It only takes a couple of minutes. I don't think the flashing is complete. I've tried a different USB port with the same result. When I've run REINSTALL, RSD runs a lot longer.

There is a reason I have this on the front page of the thread.....

o) Post the contents of the SamuriHL_HouseOfBionic\rsd\SWDL.txt file

It's not so I can ask for it every time someone has problems.....

Sorry. My mistake. :frown:

Alright, now we're getting somewhere. That's pretty whacked actually. Rename the boot.img in the 232 directory to boot232.img and copy the boot.img from the 905_FXZ directory into the 232 dir. Run the install again.
