Features, and Bug-Fixes, and Themes, OH MY! Sapphire - 0.8.4

I mean the only real issue I have with it (besides the volume rocker thing, as I stated), is the ##PROGRAM menu, but honestly that's not a big deal, and I know that's going to be a bit of a PITA to get going.

I thought I was the only one with the ##PROGRAM issue. Phew.

just tried sapphire for the first time. i think it was the smoothest install i've ever had, smoother than official 2.1, leaked 2.2, and even SS44 (which is still a very nice rom!).

the default kernel only has slots for 125 and 400, when i usually ran at 250 for a min. what do you guys prefer?

does anyone know if the nfl mobile app requires 3g signal? i get no signal where i live, but it will not load on wifi. i did not get the error about needing verizon though, it just sits there blinking loading.

that was the only issue i had, and it may not even be a sapphire thing. every other app loaded great, and so far my camera seems to be a lot snappier than it was in either the leaked frf84b or Ss44.

I used to think 125 was too low, and on eclair it was unusable, but I was shown the light and I have my sleep/charge mins at 125 now. No problems at all.

Re: nfl mobile, no clue.
Didn't I have something to do with that? :)
cool, i put it at 125 too, but i don't receive many phone calls, and was just worried about it being able to wake up for one.

Froyo handles 125Mhz way better than Eclair did. You shouldn't see any issues with answer phone calls after the screen being off for a while.

You did indeed. ;)

Anyone else having FC's in the Market app? Same thing before and after applying the fix. Basically, I choose an app, hit install, it starts and even finishes installing at which point Market immediately force closes...

i just installed the black bar theme from the wiki, my first theme ever installed, just had a few noob questions. this happened to also change the phone info in the about section, build number, rom version etc. just cosmetic stuff, right?

also, after installing the theme my gallery now says SD card detected, even though it is there according to the system, and works on every other app. any ideas? i did not wipe before i installed this theme, would doing that fix this?

Really love the Nextang theme for Sapphire but it would be much sweeter if there were Pandora, Twitter, Facebook and Google Search Nextanged widgets as well. Is there any possibility that these will be made soon?

Build number, rom version etc are put in there by Sapphire not the theme. Purely cosmetic? No, there are a few items which look at this, but for the most part, yes it's just there as a fact so you know what you are running.

I'm experiencing quite a bit of battery drain with the new sapphire and my wifi and phone signal are weaker than they used to be. Had a full charge at 2 am and 15% 6 hours later and it was turned off that entire time while i slept. The only widgets i use are news/weather and digital clock by maize. Could this be a kernel issue? I'm using the kernel recommended on the wiki. Thanks.

I was having similar problems. I did a battery report and found my display was chewing through the battery. I had it set to stay on for a minute. Dropped it to 30 seconds and things are better. Just looked and after 12 or so hours being off the charger I'm at 50%.

so everyone has the testkeys #333333 stuff in there? and rom/mod unknown? i could have sworn it was different earlier...but i might have been dreaming.

also, got my pics back by unmounting/mounting SD card. not sure what happened there, i think it was just too much plugging/unplugging into the computer applying the different update.zips. everything seems fine now with the black bar theme.

Can anyone help?? I tried installing through RM first but it didn't work. I downloaded from the wiki site, renamed to update.zip and it aborts the install everytime i try. I tried both the mirror downloads also. Any ideas?

Are you wipe data/cache?
I installed via RM
I first flashed clockwork out of habit to be safe
Downloaded rom with recomend 1ghz kernel
Checked make backup and wipe data/cache
It rebooted to recovery and installed
Booted up and loving this rom

were you trying to install through clockwork or SPrecovery? perhaps try switching from one to the other in rom manager, i've heard people have luck with that.

I tried both recoveries with the manual download/update. And RM always aborts with an error 7 code when I try to insall through it.
