Features, and Bug-Fixes, and Themes, OH MY! Sapphire - 0.8.4

Yep. Google goggles is broken in 0.8.4. Also broken, the official Verizon app. I only used it to pay my bill, but still. It gives me some kind of MDS error or something.

google goggles installs ok, runs the tutorial, and then FCs when it tries to access the camera.

can you do me a favor and tell me what it says for your build number in settings>about phone?

what the heck would have changed my build.prop file?

i'm an idiot...i was using the other market fix :icon_eek:

First guys... I submitted a bug report for the volume in call thing (might be me but never hurts to ask). Great ROM.. fast as all get out and smooth as silk. I would suggest a similar toy/application to that in BB though for command line executions. Lord knows (I dont believe I said that) it would make operations a bit smoother ;)

Also, how exactly (or rather where) did you construct the 'Incoming Message' notification? Would love to have a separate one for actual email.

To what are you referring? If you're looking for a terminal, check dev tools.

Nope.. I mean: -Bugless Beast Toolkit App (developed by Mr.Blippy)
Is a GUI to execute script function rather than command line typing ;) Just saying Id welcome such a thing here.

Yes sir as I said I did install the market fix but it still did not sync my apps over. For now I have gone back to my old ROM but I really want to use Sapphire but I can't because it won't bring over my apps :(
I had a Titanium backup of all my apps. After I installed 0.8.4 and the GAPPS.zip, my paid apps weren't available (which was expected). I just picked my paid apps (one by one) from my backup and re-installed them.

This is what I did as well.
So, I noticed something interesting this weekend. WeatherBug Elite is one of the paid apps that I manually installed from my Titanium backup. Even though I had it installed, I noticed it in the Market over the weekend and it was flagged as "Purchased" (not showing as "update available" as it typically would). So, I went ahead and DL and installed it from the Market and it took the place of the app I had installed from Titanium backup. So, I'm assuming that WeatherBug Elite is now Froyo-ready as I still don't have the Market hack installed on my Droid. I haven't noticed any of my other paid apps being available yet.

BTW... WeatherBug Elite has some pretty cool new features and the UI was tweaked with some nice screen changes including some additional content. Worth a look IMO.

Anyone get an error when trying to install from the new ClockWork?

I get:

asert failed: !less_than_int(1277333704, getprop("ro.build.date.utc"))
E:Error in /sdcard/AA Builds/sapphire-0.8.4-update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

Gonna flash to SPR and see if I get the same one. Strange.

BTW, I can install other zips no problem.

Yes, I have received that error. 0.8.4 installs fine using SPR.

It's been so long since I used SPR. If I flash to it from ROM Manager, what's the method to reboot into SPR?

If you're running Sapphire, just select reboot into recovery.

Otherwise, power off, and hold down pwr buttong + 'x' to boot into recovery.

I'm trying to get Sapphire back on my phone :D.

And I was unaware that it was still holding down X for both. Thanks bud.

This has been talked about... I'm pretty sure some probably already post a request for it, but if not feel free to do do so.

**Could somebody post a note in the OP that when installing using ROM Manager to avoid the Error 7 they should roll back Clockwork to 2.0.1.3 and then installations will go off without a hitch.

This would be very helpful. :D
