Features, and Bug-Fixes, and Themes, OH MY! Sapphire - 0.8.4

yep. Google goggles is broken in 0.8.4. Also broken, the official verizon app. I only used it to pay my bill, but still. It gives me some kind of mds error or something.

google goggles installs ok, runs the tutorial, and then fcs when it tries to access the camera.

Can you do me a favor and tell me what it says for your build number in settings>about phone?

What the heck would have changed my build.prop file?

frf84b

....

Same here - same build number - goggles does not work.

Anyone have an idea or also have an issue with hulu on sapphire 0.8.4 it worked with bugless beast I'm using the nexus flash fix and fixed hulu app but no luck since I've flashed to sapphire. Any ideas?

So I have a question, and while I'm new to the forums, I am by no means new to Android. I'm currently on 0.7.0, and I'm trying to upgrade to 0.8.4 but I've run into a really annoying issue.

I've tried to install 4 times, I get the same error, "Install aborted, asserts failed, Install blocked". I've sent this issue in via error reporting in ROM Manager.

I've flashed to numerous different clockworkmods, and even reverted back to SPRecovery.

The update is in the root of the SD and named update.zip, this I've verified. I've removed the data from the card twice and reformatted the card twice. I've even tried manually installing.

Any help?

Edit* I fixed the issue.

Thanks in advance

Ok, just caught up with this thread and haven't seen this one posted yet. I'm not sure if it's a Froyo or Sapphire thing.

Corporate Calendar, I don't find it anymore. Was that just left out of Sapphire or did it get disolved in Froyo?

I've tried installing an old .apk from roms past, but without luck. I copied the .zip over and then used CW to run the file from SD without renaming. When I tried, it hung at the "M" until I did a battery pull. I've never done a backup just to install a program, but luckily I did this time because I had to do a restore to boot back up.

Any ideas on this? Have I missed something in the progression or is this self inflicted?

Looking into this...

Looks like CorpCal.apk is in the base ROM.

If for some reason you don't have it you can download 0.8.4, grab the apk and adb push it to /system.

Corporate Calendar is not "in" FroYo. It's now a part of "calendar". From accounts you check what "syncs" to calendar and go from there. Just don't let your Google Calendar directly sync with your corporate calendar or else you'll have double entries in the single calendar app.

I see Calendar, which is linked to my google account and shows all three of my calendars there. It's set up new with the ability to turn individual views and syncing off.

But I don't see Corpcal. Where did you think you saw it?

Interesting. I've not seen the corp calendar since I moved to FroYo.

Edit: Looking into this, yes I do see the corp calendar apk, but it no longer appears to be an application. Calendar's settings handles what accounts to show including corp and google.

I don't use Corporate Calendar so others will have better advice. All I know is there exists CorpCal.apk in the 0.8.4 base package.

Ok, that makes sense, but my corporate calendar isn't showing up as an account there, that's why I thought I still needed corpcal. I've got two accounts, one on Groupwise, which syncs mail fine thru IMAP, and one on Exchange. Neither calendar is showing up?
