I have Helix and left it on - install worked fine.
DROID!
Also, as mentioned in a previous post, if when you reboot, the flashing red droid seems to flash forever, just wait. Mine flashed for 5 minutes before it came back to the home screen. And voila - everything from my old setup was there!
Bravo to Droidforums! I just got my Droid a week ago. Followed the OP instructions and now am running 2.1. Was able to download from Marketplace just fine.
Only thing I noticed was that it seems my browser bookmarks disappeared.
Thanks again! I'm glad I found this forum when I got my Droid. You'z guyz are very helpful!

Anyone else having problems with the Market crashing, post update? I went to download Google Earth, and it would crash. So I killed the Market app, went back and got Google Earth just fine. But then when I was notified that had 3 app updates available, it kept crashing on me when I tried to get back in.

The install itself takes about 2-3 mins. Then it takes you back to a menu where you should select "Reboot". Rebooting me for took about 5-7 mins, it reached the flashing droid and got hung up for about 5 mins. Then it went black (and I got worried). But fear not - press the wake up button and the slide screen should appear again. So in total, let's say 10 min.
Good luck man. I've posted this in three different forums and everyone just looks right over it. I am going to try some stuff when I get home though. I have done lots of modding with this phone and others, so no I'm not a newbie. I guess that's what people think. I haven't heard of this issue with very many people though, just a handful.

Yeah, I've downloaded it like 10 different times, from several different places. Now it doesn't really matter, as I can't do the update until I get home anyway, since my battery is below the limit and I don't have a charger here with me at work. I WILL figure it out once I get home though ;-)
