More Froyo

System Panel will show your CPU temps. I read P3 is working on this issue so other apps pick up the CPU temp.

Hook I just posted over at MDW to see if P3 can make some Standard/medium voltage kernels.

Have we found a fix for the cpu temps? All I am reading is battery temps. I did a search and did not find any fixes posted

not true blazingwolf...I don't know why you are making an argument about this I'm only trying to help people.

I've assisted many people already that are having problems with CW.

Again, we are only trying to cut down on issues with installs and SPRecovery is the tried and true way with 2.2 at this time......

I disagree with you. ClockWork is working just fine with 2.2. I have seen many people having issues with SPRecovery and they needed to switch to ClockWork to get it working correctly. I understand that you don't like ClockWork but saying that it is causing the majority of issues is just not true.

I am just trying to stop misinformation and have nothing against you or the job you have been doing.

Upon further review CK when I ran the update it did install Super Permissions this time. I'm just wondering, does anybody know can I install a higher voltage kernel over what I have already installed?

ladies and gentlemen Hook is now Officially rooted : )

Yes hook flash kernels all day long....

you may not boot or have other issues but thats what back ups are for.

Lets end the cw vs sprecovery argument. I will agree that cw is more advance, but not every one is comfortable with it. If you are comfortable with it then you can help those using cw. I am opening a thread using cw to install froyo. This will end the bickering.

Well, I just installed a 1000 Kernel. But I don't think I'm going to overclock, it seems fast enough already.

ah, the dark side, lol

yes, always backup before trying a new kernel

No one is saying that CW does not work. Those that have done it used sprecovery. So use RM to flash sprecovery, install then go back. Or use Clockwork to install it. Its up to you, but the people helping installed through sp so we will not be able to tell you why something is not working if you did it through cw because we did not use cw.

For those bent on using CW I know someone who uses cw and I will get ahold of him to see if we can set up a separate thread for installing through the cw method.

Sigh. OK, I get the picture. You guys dislike ClockWork for whatever reason. I will no longer comment about what you guys are saying.

2.2 notification & ringtone volume

On 2.2, I don't see a way to control the volume of notifications & ringtones separately. I use Sound Manager to automatically silence my notifications so emails don't keep me up all night, but I need the ringer to work.

Great! Thanks for the info, I feel better being able to watch it. Now I just have to work on battery longevity and I am golden!

Well, the 1000 Kernel I just installed is making my phone run odd. Scrolling isn't smooth. This sucks, I'm going to install a lower voltage kernal.

blazingwolf : )

again it's NOT about liking one recovery/flash method over another. It's about using what gives more consistent results. In this case successful installs of 2.2.

So if people have an issue with CW they know to use SPRecovery...

But flashing SPRecovery via CW is posing problems as well.

I don't make these things up lol.

If twirling the device in your hand worked the best I'd tell people to do that.

So don't shoot the messenger and all that good stuff : )

running p3's 1.1ghz kernel w/ new froyo with clockwordmod...everything installed perfectly. i noticed the stock speeds were much faster. any word on newer kernels for this version?

So I hate to be that guy, but I haven't really seen a good answer for this question:

Two days ago I updated to the first Froyo release. I was able to keep basically all my apps, but it took me forever to redo all my settings and reconfigure the apps, just like what happened with the 2.0 to 2.1 update.

Will I be able to load up this new build on the first post while being able to keep all my settings and whatnot?
