More Froyo

Is any one having problems trying to reboot on recovery mode when you are flashed CW?
Or using TB and Rom manager? rom manager I have noticed 2 problems;
# 1 can reboot to recovery mode.
# 2 when I click on fix permissions I get some type of error

Nope....can boot into recovery just fine. Try flashing an older version of recovery and then flashing the latest.

I also used Titanium Backup to install Busybox then used Root Explorer to put copies of BusyBox in System/bin and system/xbin.

Fix Permissions ran fine after this.

How exactly you did that?
This i would like for you to tell me exactly how to do it?

please thank you.

You have to install the flash app, it's not part of the ROM.

Froyo runs rings around 2.1, any and every version of 2.1 roms out there.

It's your choice what to do with your phone...so do what you think/feel is best.

(I already use Titanium backup for app/data backups)
Easy...install titanium backup, press "Problems" and it will ask if it can download and install busybox. Say "yes" or "allow"...whatever it asks.

(root explorer is a paid app)
Use root explorer and browse to
Data/data/com.keramidas.titaniumbackup/files, long press on busybox and choose copy.

go up folder levels until you can't go up/back and go into system then go into bin. Press Mount R/W then press paste. Long press busybox again, select copy, tap Mount R/O then go up a directory level and go into xbin. Tap Mount R/W then paste. Tap Mount R/O and then exit out.

Nope...you will need to download it to your phone and then use a filemanager of sorts to install it. Astro File Manager is a good one..

My email keeps getting messed up.

It seems to forget that it still has permitions on device administrator. If I change the passcode, no matter what I do it won't accept that it has password protection. If I disable email in device administrator so I can add it back, it is gone and I cannot add it back unless I reflash froyo.

If I have email look for new emails constantly or every so often, it won't stop using the 3G network and it runs the battery down ultra fast.

Is there a way to have the password only when I check email?

Has anyone else had problems with the email?

Thanks.

How about APPS2SD?

Is this something available in froyo 2.2.

I've got version froyo 2.2 FRFxx 33333 test keys. Moto torch app or widget will not work. Has there been any fix? I did a search but just came up with a bunch of people saying it was working in the new release...which from what i read is what i have.

Did I not forsee this.....lol

U have to make sure that where ever u downloaded it from says the version in the thread. More than likely u have the old release.

Are u running a custom ROM?

Did you launch the app from the app drawer first?

Just thought I would add something: For those of you who have had issues with not having the picasa album syncing in the gallery (old problem from 2.1), updating DID fix this issue. I now have the synced picasa folder available. Just one more reason to step of the fence!

I just noticed I'm not able to download files in the browser directly to the phone, by clicking on a download link (.zip files, xls). I know I could do this on Pete's 1.1. Is there something that needs to be enabled to allow this, or is it a known issue?

get downloadcrutch lite from the market...works perfect with the stock browser
