Often imitated, never duplicated! Focused 1.8.6

Hey is anyone running the onix Galaxy S theme over this? I dont know How I would live without it!

I believe that theme is based from a BLUR ROM, and will not correctly work on Focused.
If that's correct, then at best, it puts a bunch of stuff back on the phone that probably won't work correctly... at worse, boot loops.

If you can't live without the theme, then your best option is to pick a blur ROM that will work wit that theme...

Sorry for the duplicate post, i asked this early this morning and did not see any response, does anyone know how to remove or disable the auto reboot into recovery that seems to have been implemented in this version. Thank you to anyone who may know the answer to this.

I've not had this problem with the ROM... The only suggestion I have to reset the way recovery is set up, is the following which has worked for lots of people to get it working again, when it seems all is lost. Maybe it'll help (?).

Help I've lost ClockWork recovery, my phone just reboots back into android

I am having an odd issue that I wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing. I was having this same problem with 1.0 and 1.6 and can't figure it out. I did a clean install of the rom (clear data/cache) and I go into battery manager before doing anything else on the phone and I can set up the custom battery saver. Then within an hour i try to go into into the custom setting and it shoots me back to the settings menu. Like i said, this is without installing anything after flashing.

Battery Manager crash/FC'ing is the same known issue from 1.0 and 1.6 unfortunately. :(

Pardon me if this question has been asked before but Wireless Tether (from both the market and dev page) didn't work for me on 1.6 and doesn't work for me on 1.8.6 either. I can connect to my device, I see the upload ticker count up, but nothing will download. Also, on 1.8.6, I'm not seeing 3G Hotspot. Am I missing something?

Drod is looking at the 3G HotSpot issue. Wireless Tether should work. If you're using stock settings... make sure that the device you're connecting with is set to ad-hoc...

My battery manager doesnt crash, I can view my battery usage details. The custom battery setting is the only thing that crashes, very odd.

The below quote is from the very first post on this thread...

BETA:
Auto boot strap on every FULL boot of the system. This is beta, and will be tweaked within the next few days as I adjust and fix it, and will be uploaded either as 1.8.7 or a patch.

To remove auto recovery at boot, just install Droid X Bootstrap, run Droid X Bootstrap, press the "Bootstrap Recovery" button. This will restore the bootstrap recovery to its default behavior.

Thank you very much for the reply. I did what was suggested, but it still boots into recovery on a standard reboot. Any other suggestions?
Thank you

I'm stumped! You could try doing the same thing in ROM Manager -- set the Bootstrap Recovery there. I swear that one of these reset my bootstrap recovery to the default behavior.

Though, to be honest, how often are you powering off your phone that this is really a problem? Not trying to be snide, just curious.

yeah. . that didn't work for me either. I think it was a user error on my part. I remove the hijack and logwrapper file in system/bin, renamed logwrapper.bak to logwrapper. reinstalled bootstrap recovery, and now it seems to work fine. You are right, it is not something that should even be an issue. The reason i wanted to figure it out is due to the fact that my wife was jealous of my phone with rubix on it vs. her stock. I installed rubix on hers and didnt want to update hers to 1.86 until i could fix this on my phone, as to try not to complicate things for her.

Thanks for the reply. dancedroid I'll check on my machine's settings regarding the Wireless Tether.

Hopefully a patch, I don't feel like my like 10th flash in 3 days lol. I just tried the new Blurry but nandroided back to 1.6 because of the dialer issue. Then installed new focused and OMFG!! If drod gets HDMI working and fixes like 1 or 2 of the reported bugs (I've got no issues as of yet) then this may very well be the end all be all of ROMs for the X. Stock 1ghz this thing absolutely hauls ass. I can crank it up to 1.35 ULV via jrummy's app like I always could and it flies like a mofo.

Ah, fixed it. Looks like I was setup with a static IP. I set my machine to automatically obtain my IP and it started working. Seems to be dropping the connection every few minutes. I've seen some posts about that so I'll check those out to see what could be wrong. Works better than it did though!

Nothing worse than screwing up your woman's phone....

overclock/underclock script questions

I am a bit confused as to the underclock/overclock script. On 1.6 I ran the cpu.sh script and choose the settings of 100000,800000,500000.350000 and i noticed am improvement in battery life but the phone started experiencing the quick random reboot very sporadically...so i reflashed the ROM and it quit doing it...So now with 1.8, I ran the lowvolt.sh and the phone started rebooting again...so I decided to play around a bit since I already knew I was gonna have to reflash....When the main menu comes up, it gives you several choices for settings then you pick one and another menu comes up with 11 different freq and scaling options. My question is this because maybe i am doing something wrong...Do you have to go through EACH selection in the main menu and set each one to the same choice in the second list? because they all appear to be the same...I only choose the first menu option and then choose the setting i mentioned above. Is this correct? I am trying to get the battery life some people have been describing but guess I just do not know enough about it yet. Also second question...what is the stock values so I can return to them without having to reflash each time?

Sorry for the long post....

You only choose one. So, for example if you wanted to run stock clockspeed but slightly undervolted, you would select low voltage settings then select the 1000, 800, 500, 350 option. Does that help?

I am usually a troll on these forums but for this amazing ROM and I had to join up and thank you guys.

Drod - Thanks for the awesome set up and thanks just as much for your support. Without support a custom ROM is practically worthless.

Sephtin - speaking of support....I hope Drod has you on the payroll ;) Thanks for all your help.

Question: I know this was mentioned earlier in the thread but I never really got a good answer: Is Launcher Pro Plus going to cause problems with 1.8.6?

I am just really not a fan of ADW and would love to get back to LPP if at all possible.

I'm going to give it a shot myself, just wondering if there are any known issues.
