Often imitated, never duplicated! Focused 1.8.6

something is definitely off so far with my experience with this update. My battery life again was right about 4 hrs and i have more 1x service and less 3g.

Im now charging my phone for the 3rd time today and am getting really frustrated. I have been running either blurry or focused exclusively since release and have not had any of these issues on previous releases. I installed this version on a completely clean slate as I just did a SBF and left it clean waiting for this release. I have deleted cache, data, davlik cache, battery stats, and reinstalled this ROM again. So were the changes that big where the performance of this ROM would suffer so much on the same phone? Please help me regain the RubiX happy feelings.....
Thanks

This sounds really weird to me. How much do you use your phone? I noticed I had decreased battery performance today as well but I've made a few changes since to see if tomorrow is better, but it was nothing like 4 hours for a full charge!

i know...which is why im really frustrated. if anything, I used my phone LESS today then normal >.<

Still have a nandroid of 1.6?
Just a thought, but could try nandroid back to 1.6, and then load focused over it without wiping data/cache... see if it's any different? :P

Of course before making ANY changes, take a nandroid of what you have now, you can always delete it.. right? :)

sadly in my over joy this morning i deleted it =(

I have been told that the Multi-Touch keyboard that worked in 1.6 fails with 1.8.6. Have been working on this for those that would prefer the Multi-Touch KBD.

Need someone to test a patch. Worst case, this will simply remove the stock keyboard, and to get it back you either have to use swype for now and wait for a patch from me, or revert back by reinstalling focused (no wipe should be required).

This doesn't do anything serious, just replaces 3 files. Please post or PM with results if you want to give it a try, thanks. :)

Edit: Hmm, nvrmind. Doesn't show up on list for me.. :S scratch that. :S

My battery life actually increased today. I don't understand it but I'm not complaining, and my quadrant scores have shot up to 1919 on1.45 ghz ulv. Haven't noticed any bugs other than battery manager fc ing which has been a problem since i first switched to rubiX. Nbd. I only wiped cache when installing and am using juicemane's blackjuice 1.6 theme.

Two problems with the messaging app here.

Sometimes it brings up an entirely different application, and other times clicking on one person's name takes you to a completely different person's thread.

It's annoying when you click someones name send them a text and then notice you sent it to someone completely different lmaoo

Assuming this is the default text msging app?
Theme?
Mod?
Any other changes that might replace files?

...
Can anyone else recreate this?

No themes or mods. Default Focus App.

I've also noticed that when browsing m.facebook.com it detected by device as being a Galaxy S tab which I thought was pretty neat

Ok...3 questions...

#1- anyone tried the blur camera on 1.8.6 yet? If so, any issues?

#2 is it possible to install both the AOSP camera and the blur camera? That way one could select which to use at any given time?

#3 is there a way to remove ADW w/o replacing it with Launher2? I saw the patches, but looks like they swap them, and I have LPP, so no need to have ADW sitting around...I know ChevyNo1 includes a script to remove ADW and has suggested that if we choose to use another Launcher, we should remove ADW as it could take resources even when we aren't using it (I checked, it does run in background while I'm using LPP)

Ok, sorry for the long post and for posting a lot of questions here...

1) have not, but I'd be SHOCKED if someone hadn't already... :P

2) No. they take up the same namespace.

3) Install the launcher of your choice, then using either ADB or Root Explorer, rename /system/app/ADWLauncher.apk to ADWLauncher.bak. (It needs to be done via ADB or Root Explorer, because /system needs to be remounted as RW to do it). That will keep it from starting at all. You can delete it if you like... *shrug*.. but maybe someday you'll see the light! ;)

Just messin' with ya. Lots of people prefer LPP to ADW. kinda sad really.
ADW is licensed as open source, and LPP being closed source and proprietary and all.. which is enough in and of itself to keep me away...
After getting used to ADW, I'm really enjoying it. :)

Edit: added reminder that you have to use ADB or Root Explorer, because /system needs to be mounted RW.
Also, dont mean to start anything.. but find it kind of funny.. some people that prefer one launcher to another can be REALLY touchy about their launcher... ahh, reminds me of the vi/emacs days... :P
What were we talking about?

Indeed, I've noticed improved battery life on 1.8.6 as well, using Sephtin's BlackBarMod (sorry if I made spelling error) also, no bugs that I've found, and battery manager has NOT FC'd on me, though it did on 1.6...

Wow, you're quick! Thanks for that! Ans thanks for your kind patient assistance!!

Ok on the cam thing...I'm still not sure if I want to jump back to blur or stick with AOSP so for now I'm going to leave it alone...
And on the ADW thing...I just wanted to be sure using root explorer to delete it wouldn't cause any damage...so now that I know it's safe... ;)
Thanks again, friend! You are indeed very awesome!
