Often imitated, never duplicated! Focused 1.8.6

I am usually a troll on these forums but for this amazing ROM and I had to join up and thank you guys.

Drod - Thanks for the awesome set up and thanks just as much for your support. Without support a custom ROM is practically worthless.

Sephtin - speaking of support....I hope Drod has you on the payroll ;) Thanks for all your help.

Question: I know this was mentioned earlier in the thread but I never really got a good answer: Is Launcher Pro Plus going to cause problems with 1.8.6?

I am just really not a fan of ADW and would love to get back to LPP if at all possible.

I'm going to give it a shot myself, just wondering if there are any known issues.

No problem with LPP at all if it's anything like 1.6. You can just go into system/app and change the name of ADW.Launcher.apk to ADW.Launcher.bak in case you want to go back to it... this way you have a backup and don't have to worry about loading up two launchers.

I am a bit confused as to the underclock/overclock script. On 1.6 I ran the cpu.sh script and choose the settings of 100000,800000,500000.350000 and i noticed am improvement in battery life but the phone started experiencing the quick random reboot very sporadically...so i reflashed the ROM and it quit doing it...So now with 1.8, I ran the lowvolt.sh and the phone started rebooting again...so I decided to play around a bit since I already knew I was gonna have to reflash....When the main menu comes up, it gives you several choices for settings then you pick one and another menu comes up with 11 different freq and scaling options. My question is this because maybe i am doing something wrong...Do you have to go through EACH selection in the main menu and set each one to the same choice in the second list? because they all appear to be the same...I only choose the first menu option and then choose the setting i mentioned above. Is this correct? I am trying to get the battery life some people have been describing but guess I just do not know enough about it yet. Also second question...what is the stock values so I can return to them without having to reflash each time?

Sorry for the long post....

You only choose one. So, for example if you wanted to run stock clockspeed but slightly undervolted, you would select low voltage settings then select the 1000, 800, 500, 350 option. Does that help?

Yes, that helps somewhat...i am trying to grasp the relationship per the wording of the menus though....if low voltage scaling is stock clock just undervolted...is ultra low voltage then underclocked and undervolted? If this is so, then why does it allow a choice of 1400, etc etc for that? Is the stock voltage scaling the stock out of the box settings? And obviously high voltage scaling is overclocked and over volted correct? I feel like I am still missing something...

EDIT: I've been sitting on this damn post since this morning... got kind of busy in the office.

This thread is moving along quite swiftly!

I also noticed there were a bunch of pics on my phone that werent there prior to this? Files were like S2, S3, S4....any ideas?

This.

In Gallery, it should give you a folder name, or (??) of where they're located.
Any info you can give would be great. I use a Market app normally for Gallery... but even with the Focused Gallery, I wasn't having any issues (well, other than when I tried to replace it with something else.. meh).

Also, might help to narrow down if they're on SDCard, or in /System... could you unmount your SDCard, and see if they still show in Gallery?

Short answer: I can't recreate it. Can you find the files?

The folder name/album names are s1, s2, ... up to s7 for me. When I go to photo details, the Location is Unknown. The pictures/titles of the pictures look like they're from RSS feeds (I use NewsRob Pro, and I just quit using Newsroom and Pulse). I attached some screens.

thank you pinhead875 for the LPP update...i really like that program but would've used ADW if i had to.

Thumbs up! I prefer LP+ to ADW (since the last time I used ADW in the summer, there might have been some updates since then).

EDIT: I just read back to page 17 and Pulse reader was the culprit! The files are ok to delete.

You can choose whichever clock settings you want at whichever voltages. Clockspeed and voltage are independent of each other. Low voltage subtracts 2 volts from each clock setting. Ultra low voltage subtracts 5 volts from each clock setting. So first you decide whether you want to run ultra low or low, then you decide whether you want to clock it normally, over, or under. If you are trying to just get the best battery performance possible, then you would want to run stock speeds at ultra low voltage. Your phone may or may not be able to do this without rebooting itself, in which case you will want to just do low voltage.

Same here, no problems at all!

BUG: won't sync w/ facebook so i have like 10 contacts

Nary an issue with syncing with any app here.

I try to avoid such grand anouncements, but so far this is without question the most stable, fastest, and bug-free ROM I've tried on my X.

something is definitely off so far with my experience with this update. My battery life again was right about 4 hrs and i have more 1x service and less 3g.

Im now charging my phone for the 3rd time today and am getting really frustrated. I have been running either blurry or focused exclusively since release and have not had any of these issues on previous releases. I installed this version on a completely clean slate as I just did a SBF and left it clean waiting for this release. I have deleted cache, data, davlik cache, battery stats, and reinstalled this ROM again. So were the changes that big where the performance of this ROM would suffer so much on the same phone? Please help me regain the RubiX happy feelings.....
Thanks
