[ROM] ApeX 1.3.1 for Droid X - Running, running, as fast as it can (12/16/10)

ok, last question i promise, lol Any way to get the lock bar on the home screen back to the original height? you know 3/4 down the screen instead of at the bottom? is it just a script?

the lock bar height is store in a specific xml file in the layout folder of framework-res, i will start with keyguard_

ok that seems to complicated for me to understand at this point so im just going to leave it, but thanx anyways!

Here's the release paper[/URL].
-second bullet from the bottom under the phone image says "Device lock remains, even after long, hard key press".... Sounds dirty lol.

I tested it further and it seems that it IS fixed. If you have an actual code input at the lockscreen, you won't be able to bypass it with voice search. Otherwise, you still can, which I don't really consider a security flaw. Cool stuff.

Still won't work

This sounds like a corrupt download. Please try downloading the file again.

Hey guys I'm having trouble with this. When I get to the bootstrapper, I clear data and cache and then install from the zip. As it's copying files, it aborts with a failure on Line 26 (which is that it can't chown the xbin file). I then get stuck on the M logo and have to SBF back.

I am running .32 so I have no clue why this won't work. I have had 0 luck with Apex yet but I'm determined to get it to work (even bricked my .40 copy last night and sent me into a panic).

Anyone have a clue?

I downloaded it again and it did the same exact thing. Error looks like this:

Coping files....
Copying files....
E:Can't chown/mod /system/xbin
(No such file or directory)
E:Failure at line 26:
set_perm_recursive 0 2000 0755 0755 SYSTEM:xbin

Just wanted to say I have been using this ROM for a few days now. Very nice job.

Coming over from Rubix, I have to say I quite like this ROM. Battery life seems to die quickly once I start using my phone at all.

Has there been an SFB for 2.2.1 OTA yet? THough I might start over and give this another try.

I've noticed nothing but improved speed and battery life, but I cannot seem to engage the over clocking. Any tips?

I just loaded my backup and got back 10% of my battery back. Might be it was registering wrong with Apex. Could this have been a bad load?

After flashing patch for baseband update I have noticed that cell standby is chewing up my battery. Any one else notice that???

Is anyone else getting notifications for the OTA while running rubiX 1.3? I updated to the OTA as a tester last week, and assumed I was fully updated, but now I am getting regular messages that the phone is trying to download and install the 2.3.340 OTA.

i used to love your stuff back when i had my omnia. any plans to jump into the droid x rom arena?

LOL wow im so happy to hear people still remember me lol some people even still download the my FINAL version of my roms before I left. I want to come back but just too busy as of late and we have some awesome Dev's already like Fabolous and Drod. Maybe if Fab would take me under his wing....:icon_rolleyes::)

Your ROMS are what got me through my winmo phase!!! Thanks again for all your hard work :-)

I have a question, i dont know if i saw an answer. I'm running Rubix blurry (2.3.20) and decided to try apex. I wiped data/cache and loaded it and it worked fine except for the keyboard kept going small (even doing the lcddensity fix) and also none of my mp3's would play (doubletwist or stock). I restored back but really liked what I saw, is there a way that i could fix those issues so i can go back to apex?

You didn't actually do the .320 leak or get the .340 OTA update. Thats the reason none of your media worked, since you used an older kernel with this ROM.

If you want to run 1.3.0 the right way, you'll need to update to .320 or .340 first.

I do believe this was written in bold red letters in the first post :p
