[ROM] ApeX 1.3.1 for Droid X - Running, running, as fast as it can (12/16/10)

Hey Fab, I don't have my X yet, but I'm going to get it on Thursday. I was just wondering how launcher pro runs in ApeX compared to ADW and will the theme carry over to LP?

It runes super smooth. You can find the icons over at droid-life.com to keep with the theme.

Hey I don't know if this has been asked before, but I'm running ApeX V1.0.2.x since I'm running the 2.3.15 kernel. I was wondering if a version of ApeX 1.3.0 will be made for people running the same setup. If not what procedure would I have to go through in order to run the .320 or .340 leak. I'm a noob to all of this sorry lol.

ANyone notice an issue with linked contacts from Facebook. Looks like you have to unlink them to be able to send a facebook message to someone frmo their contact info.

Launcher pro is smooth? And by "theme" I meant the transitions between screens and the 'gingerbread' notification bar.

A quick look in the first post would let you know that neither of those scripts exist in this ROM :p

Though I have a feeling that the overclock script may be returning very soon ;)

Ah my mistake! I tried reading but I am sick currently (probably why I found time to mess with my phone. Best sick day ever.) Sorry for being a nuisance! Does anyone have any idea if battery life is improved on this rom compared to stock?

Ok so I installed this rom. When the next version comes out, how hard is it going to be to install? When an OTA update comes out, how hard will it be to install the update, and the rom? I dont get what I have to do once a new android os update comes out, as well as if an apex update is released. Im confused :/

This ROM kicks major ass! Great job. The battery life is phenomenal! Before I rooted, I was lasting until 5pm'ish... after this rom, my battery was at 70% at 5pm. I restored the universal inbox and it is working fine. My linpack score also improved. It went from 8.96 to 5.52 seconds!

Since you guys are clearly geniuses..... where the tuck is the copy and paste feature in corporate email? As a business pro, I can't use my phone for true business continuity if I can't copy and paste. Anybody have feedback on that?

When the next version of Apex comes out:
-Depends on the changes made, a lot of times it just requires the update be installed via recovery and everything is good. If problems arise, it's usually recommended to wipe data/cache

When a new OTA update comes out:
-If you want that update (you probably will), you have to restore back to stock conditions. Easiest way is to restore a nandroid backup that you took before installing apex. You did do that right :)

None of this is too hard, sometimes it can be time consuming to go back to stock, grab the ota, then re-apply a new version of a rom.

Make sure that you just have backups of stuff. Keep a nandroid backup before any major change you do so that you can roll back if it blows up on you. Use the settings under privacy to allow google to backup your stuff. Then at least your apps will re-download from the market if you have to wipe data.

I can't stress enough how much I've loved using Titanium backup. It can get screwy if you restore system data (not titaniums fault, it's just a bad idea) I use it to backup and restore app data for downloaded apps (angry birds score/stats, etc...)

Just search the forum, you can see a lot of people asking a similar question. Especially when a new rom comes out, and even more so when a new ota comes out. Everyone freaks out for a while, then it calms down. If you've got a backup plan, you'll feel much safer messing with things because you've always got a way back to a stable state.

Possible Bug? Auto Sync wont turn off and stay off. i turn it off, lock screen, and unlock, and voila its back on. i dont know what it is, but i look into the possibility of it being due to my battery profile settings.

EDIT: checked battery profiles, no fix on that front.
