[ROM] ApeX 1.3.1 for Droid X - Running, running, as fast as it can (12/16/10)

When I flashed this ROM, I used bootstrap recovery. Can someone tell me the proper way to revert back to stock/rooted.
IF you made a backup then you would choose RESTORE in bootstrap. If not then you'll have to SBF back to stock. Restoring backups are much easier.

when you run the dialer program, there are 3 buttons at the bottom, the 1st button is the voice mail button. but when you press it, the dialer just closes.
any idea why? or know how to fix?

Go into the terminal

Su
install Vvm.apk

Make sure you have the removed files zip from post two of the thread. Place it on the root of the sd card. Then extract the Vvm.apk file. Then run that terminal script.

You're kidding me. The only reason the VM button crashed the dialer was because the phone was looking for Vvm to try to con me into buying it. One more reason to hate Vzw's meddling with phone software!

I don't think it's actually the visual voice mail. It's more for the verizon voice mail to work. It was an apk that Fab removed from this build and has since said it will be included into the next one. I kinda 'freaked' out when it didn't work for me either but it was a quick harmless fix. Hope that fixes your issue.

Is anyone here having an issue with Google Maps? I am trying to install it from the market...it downloads...gets to 100%...and doesn't seem to install somehow.

I'm on my second download of it now (1X takes forever) to try again, but I re-read the instructions in the first post and had followed them to a "T" so not quite sure what would be causing the issue.

This isn't the issue where the GPS doesn't work and you need to uninstall updates to the app, I'm aware of that...as I had that problem before I even switched.

I'm just having a hard time getting the damn app on my phone to begin with.

That comprehended to mgr everytime I restored from backup. Just rehash the .zip you used originally without wiping anything and you should be good. If you ran any scripts to switch apps you will need to re-run them.

I take it that you are already rooted and placed the downloaded ROM onto the base of your sdcard?

Try using "Droid X Boostrapper". It will cost ya money but always works. Hit Bootstrap Recovery < OK (popup comes up) < Reboot Recovery.

Once into clockwork recovery, follow that particular's ROM installation instructions (usually found within the first post of the ROM's thread).

ROM Manager has worked for me a handful of times. Bootstrapper has NEVER failed me.

Can someone please help with my scripting question???

I've read FabWiki about the scripting with this ROM. I am now left with two questions....

1) Since I'm using Handcent, I have typed the following into Terminal Emulator:

su
messaging -mot

Can I remove the -aosp with a rm command????? How would I type that????

2) Since I am using Handcent, can I safely remove both aosp and mot without any technical issues down the road, such as with MMS or SMS'???

Please advise????

No, I believe the blur messaging client must stay on the phone. I wouldn't bother trying to remove the other.
