[ROM] ApeX 1.3.1 for Droid X - Running, running, as fast as it can (12/16/10)

I am only posting this from three days experience, and the post within is my Opinion only. If I have messed up, misrepresented, gotten something wrong, please correct me. OY!

GummyJar: Old 2.1 camera/video

and my GF got 7 text from one output! Yikes! It is fast, and the transitions are nice and subtle. Fresh scripts, and fresh period.

RubiX: Solid. The percent indicator on the battery in the NP is tacky, and I don't think it has the best battery life (ran themed only) though that could be placebo. Slowest of them all (IMO) but smooth, yes smooth.

Apex: Winner by several stones. Just enough blur to sync all the accounts plus my space, picasa, photo bucket, twitter, skype, email (besides yahoo corporate and gmail which are all synced on every ROM, but other major players only show on Apex. Apex has the REAL sized GB keyboard. Non of this stretched weird stuff (size does matter weird crud) Jeez, it is a 4.3 X, WTH make the Keyboard bigger on other roms (thank you Fabulous for keeping it real.) Apex is fastest. Wicked fast. If you haven't run the latest, you be missing. I think the battery life on apex is the best, though I did not give GJ a fair chance there because of text bugs and old camera tech (the X camera needs the latest, it is to good to be stuck with old software) The Apex transition animations are unique and the best. My sig stay true, and Apex is the vertex: the highest point (of something); "at the peak of the pyramid" the bugless best for me. I think all the ROMS I have tried so far, hold a candle strong and have their individual strengths, but I am so picky, I am annal retentive. Apex gets my official stamp of the best ******* ROM out! Peace.....

Apex is the only ROM that didn't revert to that gawd awful plus minus bar on the screen for zooming. That is tacky I think, and Apex ROMs don't revert there either. Happy ROM running fellow X geniuses : )

I now have 2 phone books since installing Apex 1.3.1

When I open my dialer it says 147 contacts, when I open my contacts list it says 108. How do I merge these 2 phonebooks? Did it create another during the installation. Also when I link a contact from the 147 contacts list is says "Unknown" in the "See Linked accounts" area. Any help would be awesome, thanks.

I think there is a but in contacts didn't download all mine so I manually entered them no big deal good rom

Your dialer is most likely showing ALL of your contacts, from your phone, gmail, facebook, twitter, etc, etc... But your contacts list is only showing some of them. So if you go into contacts, you will see a bar at the top. If you click it you can select "All contacts". That should fix it...?

Now, I wonder if you are signed into your gmail account. If you don't want to use it, try changing what kind of contact it is, for instance, when you create a contact, somewhere it asks if it is to be a gmail contact or a phone contact. Try phone, or try resigning into gmail in the accounts list.

Hello fab or anyone who can help. For some reason my quickoffice has stoles working properly. It used to allow me to do everything like supposed to, but now I get the following error l. "File cannot be opened" regardless of trying to preview a file pr create a new one.

It does allow me to view odds without a problem but not doc and xls. This is a major problem. I need to have this fixed before the new years. Any suggestions or solutions?

Try flashing the hotfix from before, I think I've gotten feedback that this fixes the Quickoffice issue.

Is there a way in 1.3.1 to disable the sound that the camcorder makes when you hit the button to record?

In terminal:

su
sound -d


If you ever want to reenable them:

su
sound -e

Quickoffice is being silly. I try to open a doc and it refuses to open. Quickoffice doesn't give me an error, it just craps out. Any tips?

Fab what does the hotfix fix? and how do you install it? Sorry if I missed it in the thread but lalty my phone has been freezing up and only way to bring it back is after a battery pull. I get a "system error FC" and the sceen is just blacklit and suck untill I do a battery pull.

Did I just luck out everything that I use in the rom works fine only prob aI.had was with contacts I just loaded them manualy hope it stays that way and if it doesn't all I've lost is asmall donation gained a whole lot ofexperience and had a lot.of fun Thanks

Problem fixed... Go to ADW settings, and adjust your UI settings, and General Behavior settings. I haven't had any problems since last posting... Thank you FAB!! dancedroid

I don't know if this has come up in here before, but I wanted the numeric battery icons back and was afraid that the update from 1.3.0 would revert some goodness from the framework in 1.3.1.

So I extracted the 1.3.1 framework and put the numeric battery icons in there myself (this way I'm sure to have not un-done anything)

In case anyone wants it, I packaged it up in an zip file that you can install via clockwork. This is for an un-Themed version of apex 1.3.1!

Also, I packaged up a version of services.jar that removes data throttling. Basically if you live in a blanketed throttle area, or commonly go over 5gb per month in usage, this will help your speeds out quite a lot.
