[ROM] ApeX 1.3.1 for Droid X - Running, running, as fast as it can (12/16/10)

Anyone else having major battery issues since switching to 1.3.1? I had great battery life on the previous rom. I have to charge after 6 hours of use and I am using it very minimally. Any suggestions?

used a lot of roms over the past month, dont see much change in batt. life. usually its just how you use your phone and how you have it set. try doing a complete discharge and then recharge without using until its 100% see if that helps, also remove auto brightness setting and just put a brightness wiget on your home screen and adjust as needed i found this to be the best power saver.

I just gotta say that this ROM is by far my most favorite that I've ever used!!!

As for battery life, I'm running anywhere from 18hrs (texting, emailing, twitter and browsing moderately) to over 30hrs (barely texting and emailing) and it's awesome. Yesterday I removed it off of the charger in the morning and have yet to plug it in and it's almost at 24hrs unplugged. It's currently running with a little over 50% left and I'm listening to siriusxm at work right now. dancedroid

As another fix.... drain your battery, plug it into the wall, once at 100% unplug and wipe your battery stats under clockwork recovery.

I would like to know how to change the menu background to black with white text. I am running Apex 1.3.1 with the Nextheme. Also, how can I change the background of the Gmail app to black with white text? Thanks.

It's a part of the theme. So unless you have the GB theme you can't.

I was running Apex 1.0 and flashed back to SBF 2.3.15. My problem is that I cannot wipe data and cache because I cannot reboot into recovery. When I open Koush bootstrap and "Reboot Recovery" nothing happens. When I select "Bootstrap Recovery" i get an error:
Error running exec().

How can I finish wiping my phone?

Well you have to be rooted to use the Bootstrapper. So install z4Root, root, and then wipe data and such, and then unroot. And you're good!

Editting keyboard in Swype hard to read

The editting keyboard (short cut swype from the swype key to the sym key) is hard to read because half the keys are black on black. They still work but you can't tell what they are before you push them.

I'm back on Apex once again after a 2 week stint on Tranquility. It started acting up, locking up etc... Wiped/reinstalled Apex but still had some issues so I SBF'd then installed Apex and wow I missed it! When your first reaction is "wow that used to take longer" then you know the rom you are on is good and I keep coming back to Apex. From Rubix to Darkslide and Tranq I never seem to stray very long. This is the only rom I've used besides some of the Rubix builds that just... work with 0 issues on the install and 0 issues after.

I've decided that I'm done jumping around. I may try Liberty for a day just to see what the fuss is about but it will have to be ridiculous for me to even consider keeping it.

z4Root. Version 1.3. You need Recovery Bootstrapper. Plenty of tutorials around the forum, read up. Read around. Read a lot. Beginners need to learn right the first time. Take it from me.

That was indeed the problem

Question about this Apex version. I want to switch my text messaging back to how it used to be with no conversation bubbles. I do messaging -aosp and it changes. but when I launch Messaging it says that apk isn't installed. Where do I get the AOSP messaging apk?
