[ROM] ApeX for Droid X - An AOSP Experience

2.1 SBF should work for you. No rom is going to update you to the official 2.2. All of the DX roms are based on the leaked...

I go to accounts>add account>yahoo mail>enter info>get error message on 3g or wifi

Same thing is happening when I try to add my hotmail same steps but click on email not yahoo

Hoep that helps a little... is there another way to set it up? No biggie for me since the only one i use day to day is my gmail

What happens when you go directly to the Email app to try to add Ymail or hotmail?

HAHA never thought to try that way... worked like a charm!! Thanks Fab!!

I didn't make sense. Okay when you have a leak version of 2.2 you can switch back to 2.1. But official 2.2 can not switch back to 2.1 because they chance the boot thingy. Infact if you're on official 2.2 then flash back to 2.1 guess what you just fked up you're phone. I just wanted to point that out incase you and other people didn't understand me. Rom is part of os plus the changes they done.

Alright i get ya now...ive ran the 2.2 SBF three times now and it keeps loading back to bootloader so im assuming i need to run the 2.1, would that be correct or have i f'ed the phone by running 2.2....

Try it out. It's already fk up anyways. Do back to 2.1 still if that wont get you're phone booted to the os then just wait for the official full 2.2. The sbf 2.2 there is right now is not a full 2.2 operating system of official over the air.

2.1 SBF worked thank god...so my question is, 2.2 OTA is my only option to update, theres no point to do a leaked version anymore?

So I rooted my official ota 2.2. Could I still install this over it? Ive been reading and someone mentions its the leaked 2.2 rom or something. I really don't want to brick my phone. I haven't deoxed or whatever that term is but I believe this phone does it for you.

OTA is not your only option. I'd stay with leaked if I were you, as you have more options if something screws up. Once you have the official 2.2 bootloader there's no going back. At least until there's a FULL official 2.2 sbf...

You're okay just install 2.2 ota but when you make changes to theme and rom please back up you're stuff or you will be like me. My phone is stuck on this rom and i cant go back to original 2.2 ota. Before on 2.2 ota you could do a factory reset and it would do how it suppose to but i didn't back up and i did the upgrade rom so when i do a factory reset it goes back to the rom but a fresh clean. I didn't back up so me doing factory reset doesn't go back to starting fresh on 2.2 over the air. So to be safe, if you do install ota alwasy do back up before you upgrade rom and themes. I'm fk and my rsd worked before now probably because i'm on this rom i cant run rsd to go back to that one none complete 2.2 sbf. Linux isn't helping neither working out. Now if something happend to my phone and it doesn't work completly then i have to 80 dollars to replace or just wait until i have the complete sbf.

Now is there a way i can get someone back up and restore?????

Damn that really blows but ill be sure to back everything up, i usually do anyways just this one time i went too far...hope you can get something figured out...another question, when i restored everything then updated to OTA 2.2 and added my google account i didnt have nearly all my apps, maybe 1/3, whats the deal, i realize i might have to root to get those "root apps" back but theres so many others im missing...

It's confirmed... I went back to my relatively stock OTA (with Fab's Revo theme, of course) and my Media Sync works again. Could not get it to work at all with Apex on three different machines. All reported "Can not start device (error 10)". Each was running different versions of Moto Driveres (4.5 - 4.7).

I just saw something that might help you. It is a fully deodexed and rooted nandroid backup.

Here is a link to the thread at XDA. This gentlemam claims it is a clean deodexed rooted nandroid backup of 2.2 ota. You should be able to use it to restore your phone - i think.

Don't take my word for it. Read the thread and make sure. I know that you cannot go back to 2.1 from 2.2 ota. But it sounds like you were on 2.2ota already - and this is a nandroid of that. But please don't take my word for it. I am a total newb. I just happened to be reading both of these threads and thought this might help you.

I am such a newb i forgot the link...

[Completed] Deodex OTA 2.2 - xda-developers

...there you go. ;)

Ok so I have themed my phone loaded a few of these roms and had my fair share of messups. Because nothing can be done with the bootloader or kernal all of these roms are system only. Therefore a system sbf is all you need. Flash it and do a factory reset via stock recovery and your good. If you want the .15 instead of .13 also download 928droids "back to stock" odexed version. Then it will be like nothing ever happened

Eh only way is just move on that i cant restore to factory setup on 2.2 I'll just be tight on my cell when i show off and keep a good eye on it and try not to drop it or something LOL. I'll keep away from rom and themes except the theme i was running before i upgraded to the rom. I uninstall and now i added. Cant wait for SBF of 2.2 for droid x. Once i can flash back to original 2.2 then i'll back up and do many test of rom. For now no more other rom. Now since i think i am running this rom, how can i check??????? When i flash the zip back to original theme of 2.2 i did a factory restore then i did a back up without theme. I flash back to the theme. So the rom how can i tell if i have the rom? What i know i'm still rooted if i do a factory reset. Live and learn. Crap

By the way nothing wrong with this rom in my opinion. It just that i forgot to do a back up and i cant go back to original over the air 2.2. At least we got the warning. I'm a it tech but i not a tech on android.
