[ROM] ApeX for Droid X - An AOSP Experience

ok well I found the vvm.apk for the 2.2 and I put it to the root of the sd card and I opened up terminal explorer with this command
su
install vvm.apk

it says it installs and thats it. I still don't see it in my menu or anything. I go to root explorer and go to system/app and it is there now but I go to install it says, "Application not installed" then have to close it. I don't know what to do from here. Can you help me out here OP

here is where I got the apk from and hope this helps others for other apks

I'm looking into the battery life and reboot issues. I believe they may be stemming from the same source.

I think I know what it is though ;)

Hopefully I can get a hotfix out tonight and you guys can let me know if your battery life is improved over the next couple of days.

Can you check on the visual voicemail cause I sure can't find it anywhere in the phone even after I install it using terminal. I can't install the verizon visual cause it says I have one installed which is the blur but no where on the phone, the apk wasn't even there until I manually installed it in terminal but still no show. I even did the hack in the build prop in vvm in the build prop changing it to false as I saw in a forum and still wasn't able to use the verizon off the market. sorry need to clarify after installation of rom the vvm.apk didn't show in the system/app folder so thats when I found the apk on a site put it on sd card and used terminal to install, it said it installed but still didn't show in menu but the apk did show up in the app folder.

Basically you may need to make an edit in your build.prop via Root Explorer or ADB to set preloaded VVM (not sure of the exact entry) to "false" from "true"; then you should have the ability to grab VVM from the market and install.

Yeah I overlooked this detail when I released RC1. It is being changed in the hotfix.

I can confirm that I can download the app, install it, and go as far as it asking for me to sign up for the service (which is where I stopped).

Thats where I get it and doesn't work it just says " your phone comes with built in visual voicemail features, for the best experience, please uninstall this version of the application. So i uninstall. The APK thats found for 2.2 is in my app folder and when I go to install it tells me" application not installed"

you will end up at the same spot I'm on so it's got to be something with the blur vvm not registering with the rom maybe cause of the deodexed I dunno

I know that obviously you want visual voice mail- but have you ever used google voice? I use it. It is great. It does what visual voice mail does. I am sure you know that- just thought I would throw it out there.

good luck.

I am having a couple of issues with my phone running this rom. My phone is continually in sync mode. When I open up my accounts in the settings folder it shows that it is constantly syncing my gmail contacts, gmail, and calendar. However the calendar in settings says "Sync com.android.calendar". Many times I will get an error by the calendar saying that it is having problems and can't sync. My email is showing up 10 - 15 min after I receive the email. Every once and awhile I will get a force close on something like "googleapps", I can't remember exactly I should have written it down. Is there any fix for this?
