[ROM] ApeX for Droid X - An AOSP Experience

I want to try the REVOlution Theme but I am currently using the NexTheme. Can I apply it over my current theme in rom manager, and if I don't like it, can I just switch back?

Do I have to clear cache or data or anything?

Just do a complete backup from bootstrap, apply it over the top, and see what happens... IMO, you should ALWAYS have a theme-less backup to revert to. It will be a clean install that you can than apply a theme over the top of, without risk of conflicts between themes. Worst case scenario, you have to SBF. Having a theme-less backup takes all the guess work out.

Yeah, I never thought of that. Of course my current backup is with a theme applied. I will definitely keep that in mind when trying a new ROM.

I don't really have the time to mess around to much tonight, I was just wondering if I could slap a diffrent theme on and if I didn't like it, could I switch back without any problems.

I'd say you will more than likely run into issues if you do that.

having severe network issues and the dialing of 22899 and airplane mode are not fixing it..

What ROM/install you are coming from and how you performed the install are crucial factors. I would suggest using the reboot recovery method, and following it to the letter.

i installed it from a clean 2.2 and followed everything exactly. this isn't new, i had been running the rom for a couple days now. i would miss texts by hours and last.fm/pandora/youtube would just cease to load ANYTHING for long periods of time.

great rom, but i couldn't deal with it. it went from okay to terrible in a day. had to flash back to stock

Am LOVING this rom but...

What would it take to make this read battery increments in 10% instead of reading it in 20? I much prefer the round battery with percentages in the middle but most rom's (this one included) only have it set to read in 20% increments making it so if I am at 39% of my battery left it will read 20% in the status bar. I am wondering if there is anyone out there that can either tweek this rom for me, or help me tweek it so it reads the stats at 10% increments instead.

Thanks in advance

Hey hyperlite,

Thnks for the info...
Ultimately, what worked best for me was not installing the backupstuff.apk's, but the exporting my contacts from verizon over to gmail via the .csv file

Just a quick note on that one, for anyone else that's having issues with syncing contacts...Make sure when you save the .csv export file from verizon website, you save it as csv(outlook) choice....not as csv(backup assistant).

if you export it as csv(backup assistant), it will just save all the contacts over in gmail, but all the phone numbers and email addresses will just be 'notes' within the contact, and not saved as actual phone numbers or emails...

maybe someone can learn from my mistakes:)

other than that, loving this ROM so far...stable, fast, bloatfree...
thanks!

Cool. Glad you figured it out, and thanks for the info.

Anyone know how to change the boot image. I've changed the original in system/bin to bootanimation2 and then tried to put a new one in its place. But when I unzip the new one and move the folder to system/bin and label it bootanimation it isn't recognized. All I've managed to do is disable the boot animation apex comes with.

Fyi. When I click on properties of the unzipped folder it says size 0. Im not sure where im screwing up

There's a thread on how to do this here: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...ethod-changing-boot-logo-m-works-perfect.html

I've used all RC1, RC2, and V1 and I must say Fab did a tremendous job on V1. I'm absolutely loving this ROM, the only issues i had was the rebooting (which i turned overclock off so no more of that) and the camera panoramic assist (which i applied the fix for)..other than that...LOOOOOVEE..thanks so much for your hard work!!

Im really liking the rom myself. I didn't realize there was a problem with the panoramic feature. Il have to search for the fix

I just put this on yesterday with the NEX theme. So far I am loving it. Phone is fast and responsive. No issues so far. Awesome job!

Hi all,

I've seen this question asked before a couple of times but without an answer (except to use TouchDown!)

When I try to add a Corporate Sync account (the blue icon), it starts "Adding your Corporate Sync account" and then errors with "Could not connect to the server"

This is working fine from my Stock 2.2 OTA backup.

I'd love to get this working (that and the blur-based messagine app) as I use them all the time.

Any ideas?

I believe you have to add those apk's back into your system/app folder though terminal. I don't personally use corp sync or blur messaging I use k9 and handcent
