[ROM] rubiX Focused 0.3

One last thing. When I open up the Gallery, it doens't see any of the folders I have on my SD card. Mainly the DCIM folder and a couple other folders I made. I save wallpapers to a folder called...wallpapers, but it won't show up now.

Never mind, I snapped a couple pictures and went back to the gallery. It 'Looked for Media' for a few minutes and it all came up.

Again, great job on the ROM man. Its very fast and stable. Love it!

How do you even open the bootstrapper?

Its an app on the Market called Droid X Bootstrap. There are two button when you launch it. It the first to patch the bootloader and then hit the second button to boot into the new recovery.

Oh, and yes, the Droid X Bootstrap costs money.

Couple questions if someone can help me. First, what does ZipAligned Apps mean? Also, do you have a list of all the Google apps that were removed so I can download them if I choose from the Market. I have the few major ones, but I am sure there are others I am missing.

It doesn't come up in the market
Nevermind found it. Droid x recovery bootstrap. Should I not even mess around trying to do this if I m not that techy?

If you wipe via the stock recovery, its necessary. Wiping through clockwork recovery, no.

For the stock file manager: I didn't mean to take it out in the release. I took it out for my build, and forgot to put it back in. Laziness on my part. Sorry :/ I attached the .apk zipped up, just extract the file and adb push FileManager.apk /system/app or copy/paste with root explorer and change permissions to 644.

Oh ok. If you use 928's method of getting back to stock it restores it anyways right?

I'm not sure of 928's method.. what is it? If it's wiping through clockwork mod recovery, it only wipes your phones data. Factory reset makes you call to *228. If backup assistant isn't present, it fails the system checks on boot.

Alright, I flashed it (backupassistant) and the app is now in my app drawer, but when I click it nothing happens and I can't access it from settings and it doesn't show up in "my accounts". How do I get this to work? Or does just having it like this work if I ever have to factory reset?

Hey guys,
I have noticed that since installing from stock 2.2 (leak, not ota) to rubix i have 2 stock text messaging apps. One is "messaging" and the other is "text messages". Any way i can remove one of them? I have root explorer if that could do the trick..

You can use android mate from the market to find where and which package you remove/rename so it will remove from the app drawer.

I just did it though since I use chimp sms. Its located in /system/app and is called mms.apk. Imo, rename it so it won't be there anymore.

Probably a dumb question...
But contemplating loading this as my first ROM for the DX. Wondering if this is available in ROM Manager? Or does it have to be installed manually?

Also, I'm guessing the FIRST line under install instructions should be "Download the zip file to your SDCard. The instructions cover formatting everything and then running the zip file... while never mentioning that you need to first have the .zip file on your SD card. :S Someone is eventually going to not download it, and instead start following the instructions, and this is going to make their day. :P

(I only mention this, because the guides I've seen that use ROM Manager for installing ROMs all cover little details like this...)

Just trying to he helpful...

One quick question, what happened to the stock e-mail app for accounts like Exchange? I know there is one on there now, but its not the same as what it was and I liked the original one. I looked on the market, but its not there. Am I just retarded and think its different or is it actually different.

Since the majority of blur functions were removed, the Froyo counterparts were pulled from the Droid 1's latest release. Exchange email is included in the Email app, when you're adding an email it gives you the option for exchange.
It has to be done via the email app, not accounts. Adding anything other than gmail under accounts, essentially does nothing now.

zipalign | Android Developers for zipalign info.

Google apps:
Gmail
Voice Search
Maps
Google Search

Backup Assistant is currently broken.. You shouldn't need a factory reset, if you do, flash a backup to a blur rom, such as a leak or what not, or install a leak before hand.

Sorry about the vagueness in the OP :) I'll fix it. Yes, it needs to be put on your sd card first. No, it is not on rom manager yet, I will be working on that today.

Thanks. I likes the blur email aop, but would rather be blurless. I'll make do.

Love the new mod! One thing I've noticed is that the sync icon has been on the notification bar and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it to go away. Isn't this causing more battery drain? Any ideas why it's there and how to get it to stop?

I am having this issue as well.

Also, I applied the BigDXSerenity theme (http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...-custom-theme-experience-8-colors-choose.html) over this ROM and all seems to be in working order in case anyone was wondering.
