[ROM] Zero Blur! Zero Lag! rubiX Focused 1.0

Loving the black bar mod theme... what I'd really like though is a droid x theme with the black bar though!

I really hope you don't take this the wrong way and i mean nothing by it, but isn't the whole concept of going AOSP vanilla is to get away from Droid X theme and Blur?

Having same problem with g talk fc

Did you try clearing data/cache for it?
Menu> Applications> Manage Applications> All tab> gtalk
clear data, clear cache, force stop (if needed), and see if that helps (?).

You may need to re-set it up, but worth it to get rid of issue (?).

HTH!

Nothing to clear or wipe using a fresh install of focus and wiped before

So you did, or didnt' try it? :S

Rubix Refocused 1.0 Question

This may be a naive question but I installed the Rubix 1.0 Rom, runs zippy as hell love it. However, all my contacts are gone. Is this normal?

Also, I keep hearing all this talk about 3D launcher 2 but don't see it in the apps installed with the ROM. How do I run it?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanls

Ok- you are all ready running the 3D launcher 2. That is the default home/launcher that comes with the rom. So you are running it. It is not an app you have to launch. The 3D part of it is the app drawer. If you notice at the top and bottom of your app drawer the apps appear to be scrolling into the foreground and background? That is "3D". Yeah- that's what all the excitement is about.

Contacts- try 1. Settings. 2.Accounts. 3. Make sure you are set up for auto sync. 4. Tap your gmail account and check to see that "Contacts" is "checked" to sync.

Hopefully you do understand that if you did not originally sync your contacts to your gmail account (if you only added them to your phone) then they are lost forever and you will have to add them back manually.

If this is the case I suggest adding them to your gmail account so you can use the computer and then syncing with your phone.

cheers.

Well the concept for me W's to have a choice. . The aosp is great for speed and gets rid of bloat and other blur nonsense i don't use... but the Dx theme i am a fan of... the icons are more distinguished and i am still proud of my sick DX... just not the blur launcher

Hey thanks for the fast reply. 3D Launcher, I get it now. As for the contacts, unfortunately I didn't sync my original contacts to gmail, I believe I imported them all via verizon's backup assistant tool or whatever it is.

How did you sync your contacts before? BackUp Assistant? Google Contacts? Facebook? other?

It's normal that they're gone, but you should be able to get them back, just need to know what they were sync'd with!

Launcher2 is the default home screen (the launcher). If you hit the apps button to view your apps drawer, you're looking at the 3d app launcher (I guess it's called), notice how it scrolls off the top and bottom.. Guess that's 3d. :)

Give this a shot then:
Getting BUA (Back Up Assistant) contacts into Google Contacts:

Hope this helps!

Edit: Pasting info, so it's in this thread as well:
I've not tried this, has anyone given it a shot? Can someone confirm if it works or not?

From MyVerizon:
--Contacts at the top:
--View Contacts (bottom right)
--Select All (Top Right)
--From the drop down (to the right of select all), choose Export Contacts

Then import on into google Contacts...

Please let me know if this works or not!

By MyVerizon, I mean going to verizonwireless.com, and clicking the "MyVerizon" link top right....

Worked

Wow. Thanks for all the help guys.

Sephtin, you nailed it. I logged onto my Verizon.com from my PC and exported all of the contacts into a CSV file from the backup assistant, then imported them into google contacts. Worked.
