It's slated for October. Even giving it another month to work out the bugs before the AOSP starts getting code we're looking at before the end of the year.

But that's WAY beyond the scope of this update.

This should do it for you. Just wait for a rooted update.

I think you just need to make sure that you dont have any recoveries flashed such as clockworkmod or SP

Google has refused to nix the idea despite the rumors flying around. In fact, they've flat out denied it won't reach the D1.

I'm giving it a 50/50 chance. Maybe even 60/40 now that even stock Droids are running at 800MHz.

Now there is the million dollar question. Will there be a rooted stock frg22D? With the latest bout of C & D's orders out there, will anyone be able to host the file? To date we have really just had CZ letting out the release to P3 and Pete, which relatively quickly resulted in a deodexed version for those of us wanting to play closer to stock. This will be interesting to see who "rastles" with this new file, and whether there will be any ramifications for whomever does the posting/hosting.

I did notice that CVPCS has updated his git hub to incorporate, but on that front his rom watch starts. Pete has been a little thin lately. All in all, these are certainly complicated times for us root users.

i think its quite likely since the D1 has such a dedicated fan base. Although, if they did make it D2 only they might get a lot of people paying for the D2
