yeah but I'd be willing to bet he didn't check or know how to check.. He just said he installed the beta and it wasn't working.. Sound crazy but judging by some of his posts hgt had some problems navigating the settings.. Guess we will find out...

This. The phone obviously has issues and the price has gone up $50 since it was first not-announced. I complain about my OG droid, but the truth is we are lucky to not be in the enV touch / storm 1 Boat that some people here are in while we wait for this whole thing to unfold.

i'm in the env boat. well sort of until i dropped it in water. now i'm using an even crappier phone. i'm beginning to think i should just get an incredible or x until this phone comes out. i'm going on vacation for a few days at the end of march and was counting on having the TB, now i'm beginning to think i won't even have it. the longer they wait for this to come out, the more people aren't going to get it (waiting for bionic, questioning if the tb will have issues, etc).

You know whats even more rediculous, the fact that they can make a solid release date for the Crapple Ipad 2 which isnt even a friggen cell phone, yet they cant make a date for their first 4g cell. On top of that, the ipad2 probably was what pushed back the phone even further.

SO YOU KNOW WHAT VERIZON, GROW A PAIR AND RELEASE THE PHONE! :icon_evil::icon_evil::icon_evil::icon_evil:

That's what I was thinking when I went on VZW website earlier today...they just announced the iPad 2 and it will already be on sale this week...the Thunder-ON-HOLD, although not officially annouced, still has no release date. But let's keep advertising for it...I just don't get it...

Stop discussing the release. Once again, if the thread gets closed you'll only have yourselves to blame.

It seems whatever thread that gets opened and then closed by the Gestapo, there is the same people discussing this phone. Why not have one big Thunderbolt thread, no sub threads, no technical thread, but a giant one, because in the end, it is always the same people discussing this issue. From the Mecha thread, to the release threads, to this one.

I assume other Thunderbolt threads will have some of the same people in them as well. Just make a blanket thread and be done with it. If there is negative talk, ban the people because they are here to just cause issues...angry at Verizon for reasons beyond anyones control. Angry because the icrap is a toy and they know it. Angry because they upgraded to a Blackberry and have to pay full price for this phone.

Not just Samsungs have Swype, the X was actually one of the first (I think the 1st on Verizon) to come preloaded with Swype.

If it doesn't come with Swype, even the unlocked bootloader won't be enough to get me to buy the TB.

And I agree with the comments that until dual-core is more common there won't be much optimized for use. Which means my 1yr contract with just about be up for upgrade.

Are you sure? I'm almost positive that it will come preloaded, I think I heard it somewhere. Did the Incredible has swype?

AFAIK, the only phones that come pre-loaded with Swype are the Android phones by Samsung. That said, someone posted a link to download and install the Swype beta somwhere in the Demo thread.

I'm 99% sure the Droid 2 Global has Swype preloaded.

So I have gone almost 2 months without a phone because of this thing.

Let me ask you guys something, did you know you can write these things called letters to people and even go knock on their door to talk to them. It's crazy I didn't believe it at first but its real.

Hopefully it comes out soon so I can get back to reality!

Hook, I am not trying to start anything, but on the first page of this thread you stated that there is going to be people talking about the release. You also stated that you would allow the discussion as long as the.forum guidlines were meet and you will probably catch flak from the other mode. I don't see why you are now stating to not talk about it at all when it was stated on page one that we can. You said to police ourselves and if the language and flaming started again like in the last thread, there would be infractions and thread closed. I am not.second.guessing you but just going off of what you said. I think for the most part people have been pretty good. Except for some language, but no flaming.

This isn't working. I said that the thread could stay open so long as release date wasn't speculated on. So far, I said there would only be one warning. So far there has been 3 responses directly related to the date (one was copied) and now the last won speculating why the delay.

We gave you 3 threads to do that on. On all 3 threads something happened to get them closed.

Now I have every right to close the thread now. But i know nobody looks at the first page of a thread and pays attention.

So here's what we're going to do. I will allow some speculation on when the phone arrives. However as I said if there is any swearing. Like on the previous post or anybody does something that is against the guidelines i'm not going to give another chance. And by doing this I'm probably getting my fellow mods upset but I want to be as fair as possible.

So you're going to have to police it yourself. You can't say cluster * everyone knows what that means. You I suggest that you click on my signature link and actually read the guidelines.

It's almost impossible not to allow some speculation but it's only a phone. Keep that in mind, please.

Can everyone please follow the rules and.if you don't know them look them up. I am tired of threads being closed down due to those that can't follow simple guidelines. I am also tired of having to hunt down the new threads because the last one was closed. I amy not comment much as I just like to.read what is going on. Its just a phone! Have some patience for the love!

People, follow the rules. Period. The release of the iPad 2 has NOTHING to do with the hold back on the Thunderbolt. That is nonsense. The issue is phone related. That is obvious. Leave it at that. At the rate this thread is going, we're going to have to lock down the threads entirely and you will have to just sit back and wait until the thing is announced and released. The trends are starting here just like they did in every other thread. For those of use that have had to watch EVERY iteration of the threads can see the writing on the wall.

All I know is the people that complain saying "What are the mods, gustapo or cops," I can attest to one thing. When I was a moderator (not here) you screwed you got.a warning it happened again you were banned for so many set days, happened again and banned for good. The ones that second guessed a mod were banned for 5 days. If you think these mode are being jerks I would think again. They have given some of you a lot of slack, for you to turn around and do it again. This is their.site and their rules. Follow them and things are cool. If you don't like it, its called the internet for a reason.

I don't mean this disrespectfully, but what is the issue? People have been treating each other pretty well, and people's interests are peaked....especially now. This brings traffic to the site and I would think your advertisers would like the numbers......

Honestly, we're not trying to be mean about this and we really actually go out of our way NOT to ban members. Everyone on this staff, myself included, absolutely hates banning people. For that matter, most of us don't even like to give infractions. It's usually got to be something that really catches our attention to make us go to an extreme. Usually closing these threads is better for all involved compared to what we would have to do otherwise.

I did indeed say I would allow some discussion and I have. But the thread was trending to simply discuss the distribution. So I felt it was time to step in.

It was also discussed that we would go back to the original terms on opening the thread. I don't mind a few mentions, I'm just not going to have this thread go directly on that subject.

The issue is too many here can't act mature and begin flaming and using profanity. It has happened in EVERY other Thunderbolt thread. These are the only threads that have required oversight by EVERY member of the staff. The only other thread that even got close to that was prior to the release of Froyo. But these threads are putting those to shame.
