I did indeed say I would allow some discussion and I have. But the thread was trending to simply discuss the distribution. So I felt it was time to step in.

It was also discussed that we would go back to the original terms on opening the thread. I don't mind a few mentions, I'm just not going to have this thread go directly on that subject.

Ok, I was just wondering, as I was a little confused when I.saw that. Like I said, not trying to cause issues or anything else like that.

I have sat through 4 iterations of this thread and keep seeing the same thing and usually the same people. Its a phone and I don't understand how people can get so ticked. Life is short, appreciate your friends and families.

I like coming here and see what is going on and read up on everything droid, not just the tbolt.

One other thing. When I made the comment about allowing some discussion about release I was asked by the OP to go to the original deal and change the title so that everyone understood that we were not goingt to discuss it.

I guess I should have deleted my post. But irregardless I expect that people are going to drift into that topic, I'm not going to kill this thread because of a small discussion, but I want it clear that it wasn't going to be the center of the conversation. I quoted quite a few posts, all on the same page.

I've also received pm's asking why I don't just ban people who get out of line. Well, I have done that. But rather then banning everyone it's just easier to close the thread.

Be respectful to each other. That's all we ask, and stay on topic.

Wouldn't it be great if you could ban those banned to their own thread (like a jail cell) where all of us who follow the rules don't have to see it, but they can go at each other all they want :icon_ ban:

I think it'd be even more great if mods only stepped in to help us with forum issues and left the threads to themselves. People tend to work things out, even on the internets. It's frustrating when I'm following the gossip here on the TB only to log in and find the thread closed, and for the life of me I can't figure out why. Yeah I read the forum rules, but I think the interpretation of those rules is pretty strict here.
 
Well, I am not trying to learn more about a moderator, nor am I trying to buy one.
So, lets start talking more about the phone.

I have learned a lot from listening to everyone talk in these threads, I enjoy it.
I am almost convinced I will be getting a TB, they are helping me decide.
The longer I wait though, the more I find out about more options I could get.
This twirls me into the deciding/comparing vortex again.

Really, you can't discuss the TB too much, without bringing up the release date.
Most cases its the first thing that comes to mind. (And with good reason, its been "coming soon" forever)
All mods are asking is for more information and less spam about "Is it here yet".

Again, if you'd read all that we have and had to step in as much as we have, then you might understand. We have reasons for what we do. We are a family forum and the offending posts were far from friendly. Thus the reason we have to step in.

I'm sorry to be blunt, but we have the rules for a reason. And we won't be changing them anytime soon.
 
OK folks, enough poking the mods. I thought this was a thread about a phone, starts with Thunder, ends with... C'mon, ends with...

Sigh, this thread gonna get lockified.
