BMX is doing some heavy tweeting today. It seems like the problems actually do have an apple core.

I am not surprised at all either. Sounds like their teams were so busy beefing up the existing 3G network for iPhone launch, and they forgot to finish out their LTE deployment to full capacity in the process. If I were big red I might have made the same mistake. After all apple iphone and money go hand in hand these days. I cant even imagine what sprint and tmo would do to get the iphone. Probably anything!

Just a question stemming from my curiosity.
Hope I'm being general enough.

For all of those endlessly complaining about what VZW and HTC are CURRENTLY doing.

"What would you do if you were in their shoes?"

PLEASE NOTE I SAID "CURRENTLY" and "do" not "done".

Got out in front and be upfront so no one is speculating for us. I understand confidentiality but there are ways for a company to keep the users up to date by telling them "need to know" info only.

It's impossible (for all practical purposes) to do these things at the same time:

-Share technical "insider" type details
-Admit fault
-Appease shareholders
-Maximize profit
-Maintain key competitive advantages (or at least secrecy)

Verizon is supposed to just release it full of bugs so their customer satisfaction ratings (which they covet so greatly) go down the drain.... right?

I guarantee you that if the phone would've released on 2/24 full of bugs, all the vitriolic TB posts you've read would look like nothing.

There would be a whole new subforum for HTC and VZW hate. (Although based on the entitlement of a few people here, I think we should have that anyway)

IF they would have done that we would have custom roms that fixed the "problems", HTC would take notice and have an official update... problem solved, well that is unless it's all "the network", then Big Red would just blame it on our hardware?

Done waiting for this frickin phone. Ever since august I've anticipated it and I gotta say, I'm done. Absolutely done. Verizon is trying to get this phone to work on 4g soley for a loasd of money but the phone wasn't made to do that originally, as I recall a 3g cdma radio was in it in november, anyways, I'm done. All their going to do is overprice this phone and God know what their going to do with 4g pricing, I love every spec but unfortunately, these "delays" are convincing me that this phone will still be buggy and maybe even delayed indefinitely. Good Bye All fellow Thunderbolt junkies...I bid u all farewell

Got my hands on a working thunderbolt at training today and even the htc rep, who I've known for awhile, doesn't even know when it'll be released. Phone is so cool. Hot boot option puts phone in standby ala bb and takes 2 to 4 seconds to boot up. Reboot option in power menu. The phone feels solid and I really like the new sense. There is a lot of cool little features. Unfortunately they took the sim cards out so I couldn't try to get speedtest run as I was in a lte area. I would imagine that it will be here soon. My guess is by end of March. Vzw doesn't have trainings that far ahead of product launches

I had the new product itch and just bought a nook color to root. I was really excited about the thunderbolt and still am. I still have my BB preorder though I may cancel it soon. Flashed pete's new GPA13 build and my OG droid is running great right now so I might be able to make it a little longer without a new phone. It's been a wild ride, I'm going to try to stay out of this thread but I know I'll be checking back sooner rather than later.

To keep this on topic, I hope the TBolt makes it before the end of march. I still think I will take it over the bionic, just because of the Sense goodness. Other than the terrible choices in battery size I feel like HTC makes a much more polished product than moto. My fiance's rooted Eris is a neat little device that I still enjoy using.

If problem is network your wait will be even longer.

2) Get existing 3G phone.
Not back to the future but forward to the past.

3) Switch carriers. Ca_ _ou h_a_ me n_w?

The thing for me about the TB is if they are going to make you pay for 4G coverage when I dont have it around here.. But I really want this phone, and it kills me because I have other stuff I want/need to buy but I am holding off because I dont know the release date and I know as soon as I go buy something verizon will announce it..

I really wish they would just give us a date.. If they dont meet that date its better than not giving us anything at all..

Exactly. Everyone saying "that's it I give up on this phone", what exactly are you giving it up for? There's nothing else out right now that even comes close, not on VZW anyway
