Thunderbolt General Discussion - This is Not A Release Date Discussion

I think its a hardware issue. Needs some juice and a dual core. Sure they will get it to work but it wont be pretty I bet. Its their first LTE device its supposed to have issues. Again, as long as people understand they WILL be early adopters they shouldn't complain. Its going to have problems.

I never buy accessories until I have the phone in hand :D. With that said Cakes I would hold onto it or just sell it to me :D .

If you're interested in some Steinheil Ultra Crystal screen protectors I can help you out :p

I might get back to you on that. Any one have an otterbox to sell as well.

Otterbox hasn't released anything yet. I do have a Seidio Surface Case in black though! Before this turns into a swap meet thread, I was talking to a Verizon rep on Saturday and when I brought up the Thunderbolt he started going off about corporate. It was pretty fun to listen to :D

Based on today's news from Verizon I guess many will be looking at the other 4G LTE line up from Verizon (I won't buy a Samsung POS phone) but all things considered the Bionic is looking good, to a degree.

I hate blur......... Sorry that just came out like that. But I really hate blur and locked bootloaders. So Bionic is out for me. Samsung dont like updates and looking how LG seemed to copy touchwiz and also seem to follow samsung in not liking updates, it leaves me to one choice for right now unless one of the other three change their ways.

Screw it. Caved and got an X to hold me over till quad cores. Just gonna skip over this madness and let the bugs get ironed out.

That is one reason the bionic is out for me.

This is where I think a lot of outrage is coming from. First we hear from a blog page that the Tb had battery issues. Then the battery issue is fixed so people want to know why it isnt released.
People see this with comments from a vzw rep, which I must admit I have not read entirely but intend on doing so, Verizon Working Through LTE Issues, First Phones Before “Second Half of the Year” - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog

^ that causes speculation that its not a htc issue but a vzw issue. But then we see this: Samsung Stealth Caught in the Wild | TechnoBuffalo

Now you wondering is it truly a vzw lte issue, still a htc issue, or is vzw delaying it intentionally to deal with pricing changes. Personally I have no problem waiting because the later it releases the more I get to see the bionic and other devices. But I can understand people's concerns especially if you reserved one at best buy. Yes vzw and htc do not owe us any thing as as far as a device that has not been released yet. But I do think HTC will take the biggest hit for the delay.

I agree with you on who will take the biggest hit.

First though, a blog "reported" the battery problem and the solution. Not VZW or HTC.
Secondly, VZW releases statement about tech issues and still no one is satisfied. Thereby leading to just more speculation.
Frankly, I don't think it's in any businesses best interest to offer full disclosure. ie. battery, screen, hardware, software, release conflicts, system problems, etc.

Those of us who want to be on the bleeding edge need to learn that "no pain, no gain" doesn't just apply to the gym. :)

True IF they fix the problem. If they are sweeping it under the rug and do not tell the people then that is just bad business. HTC has a decent rep but I would not put it pass any one to "let it ride". Saying we have technical issues and not specifying and then later a bunch of users notice battery issues then we have a problem since they are stuck on a 2 yr contract and just paid 300 bucks. Now people know what the issue is (supposedly) it would be wise not to be the first in line. I suggest wait for people to use it in every day situations and check out as many reviews as you can.

Battery issues with a newly released phone? I guess there's a first time for everything. :)

I believe specifying technical issues would only feed the growing illness called "technology hypochondria".
Simply make up a tech issue with a certain phone and people will come out of the woodwork complaining that their phone has it.

That's just what I believe. I'm not a doctor, but I do play one on the internet.:soapbox:

I cannot believe I am saying this, but after 15 years of being a loyal VZW customer, I am actually considering changing carriers. I know it's not the same phone, but I did spend quite a bit of time today at a sprint store looking at the Evo. Some may say that the TB delay is not VZ's fault or it is and quite frankly I don't care whose fault it is and I am pissed. Common decency would have been for VZ to make some kind of statement about the delay especially after they authorized BB to take $50.00 preorders
