Reading Comprehension 101 for those that don't bother.....

What the House of Bionic is NOT

o) A replacement for knowledge on how to modify your phone. I.E. This is not a script for "n00bs" to bypass learning the process.
o) Will NOT apply the update in recovery for you...that is, and will always be, a manual process. Follow the menus!
o) Will NOT work if you skip steps that you think "aren't necessary". <-- HERE I AM, READ ME READ ME
o) Will NOT work if you don't READ AND LEARN *BEFORE* doing!

I'm confused by the menu choices after selecting (1) INSTALL 232.
I already did (1) Push the update to sdcard-ext.
Now I can either select (2) to reboot, followed by manual update steps provided in (4) *OR* select (3) to Flash phone with 323\HouseOfBionic_install
What does this third option do, just automates the reboot and manual flash (2)+(4)?
In other words, follow all steps in order!

Well said brother. Why won't your script hold volume up/dn and power for me and then run commands inside of said recovery =)

Cause you didn't buy my lego robotic addition for the low low price of 67238 bucks. ;) ROFLMAO!

I'm familiar with the flashing process through fastboot, I've done it a few times but without using HoB. The part that confused me was option 3, especially that it comes after the reboot option and before the instructions option. What does this option do?

Perhaps I should have just tried it to see but didn't want to F something up and be derided for not following directions again :-)

This isn't really all that complicated....Seriously, not at all.

1. push the update to your phone and verify it
2. reboot into AP fasboot. That's ALL this does
3. Flash necessary files to allow update to install
4. maual steps to reboot directly into recovery from fasboot and apply the update
5. root

I don't get why the "confusion" when I clearly state to not skip steps. They're not exactly difficult to follow IMO.

The people that don't follow directions well are the ones that are finding this process hard. I'm a newbie, followed the directions to a "T" and works like a charm without any issues.

Oh, I think I see where our miscommunication might lie. The "confusion" I was referring to is NOT in your steps, but in the MENU options of your batch file. From the initial "welcome" menu, when I select option (1) to Install 232, I'm presented with another menu of options:

Code:
Options for 232 update

1) Push the update to sdcard-ext
2) Reboot to bootloader
3) Flash phone with 232\HouseOfBionic_install
4) Show instructions for update install
5) Install root
6) Extract recovery image (must root first)
E) Exit

I understand what 1 and 2 do. I also understand the instructions given in option 4. Where my confusion lies is in option 3. What does this do? It makes it sound as if this option somehow automated the flashing process. I didn't think this was possible, hence why I asked what it does.

You keep asking questions as though step 3 and step 4 are somehow mutually exclusive to each other. I don't now how much clearer I can make this without getting really annoyed. I try to provide a decent level of support, but, seriously, this is getting on my nerves now. This will be the LAST time I explain it to you.

Option 3 flashes files from the 905 FXZ and the update you're trying to install. This prepares the phone for the *NEXT STEP* which is to boot into recovery and MANUALLY install the update. You choose to ignore my original post where this is clearly detailed. But hey, you know, much easier to keep asking than to go read something right? Especially this part:

o) Will NOT apply the update in recovery for you...that is, and will always be, a manual process. Follow the menus!

Do you get now that NO STEP except rooting is OPTIONAL now? If not, well, too bad. Sorry, but, I have very limited patience and right now, I have no more for this. Go read the script if you still have questions. That's what it's there for. It's not magic. It's not difficult. If you look at the bat file and the script that's being flashed, you'd already know the answer to your questions. I'm not going to spoonfeed people who won't take the time to read things.
