Not quite sold on the Droid Bionic but want to stay motorola

I'm with you HK. If the Targa is a significant upgrade from the Bionic I just can't see it released anytime near the Bionic, which I hope will be coming in April/May. Also, since the Atrix launched without issues I am confident in the Bionic if you're speaking of the PMU problem that was bought up a while back. Also, with all these TB users to troubleshoot LTE, it will be working wonderfully by the time we have our devices!

CK, what have you you heard about a Targa release date?
That it is NOT a Q4 handset and it will see release. Thats about it right now.

@Egoo as far as the Stealth V there is so much conflicting info on it. There's video and articles that support Dual Core AND Single Core. Since it's basically the Galaxy S/Fasciante successor I'm going to assume they will put the same processor in them but then again who knows with any of these manufactures.

Some of the best Android phones are not landing on VZW and it's pretty disappointing. LG 3D Optimus will be an AWESOME handset. Galaxy SII with it's Dual Core Exynos, 1GIG RAM and Kies over WiFi.

Verizon needs to step it up and get us some worthy hardware not the incremental upgrades to equipment they have been giving us. Nothing earth shattering has hit since the Droid 1 and thats unacceptable if you ask me. The iPhone was the biggest highlight in almost 2 years. I'm not a happy camper right now with VZW.

I feel the same way as CK. Verizon isn't getting any of the good phones. I want something that'll make me say I have to get that. If the rumors are true then the stealth V will be what I get. If nothing awes me I'll stick with my OG Droid as long as possible.

Don't get me wrong the Bionic is an excellent handset but give us at least one other beast : ) thats not asking for much.

Why does motorola fail at design? humps, physical buttons, locked.. hello thunderbolt. :)

I'd settle for the Bionic if it had one gig of ram. I know some think we don't actually need this much but after having the OG Droid I know what not having enough ram feels like so I would rather err on the side of caution. I really don't think the Targa will be much better than the Bionic. Moto probably just wants to get a phone on Verizon with webtop so I would expect it to have more ram than the Bionic but not much more upgrade wise. They said all high end phones after Q2 will have it so if it comes out in Q3 it'll be the perfect candidate. Just my opinion.

Anyone else thinking about jumping on the TB on a 1 year plan? That way in 10 months or so you can jump on the cream of the crop, possible quad core? I was originally planning on holding out for the Bionic, but really need/want a new phone and don't want to wait several more months. If I new for sure Bionic would be out in 4 weeks or less I'd wait, but for now, the TB is looking nice.

I was going to, but people seem to be pretty confident in a late April/early May launch. I'd hold on a little longer. We should hear something shortly whether unofficially or officially.

I would totally do that if I wasnt stuck in a contract already.

I believe we can thank the iPhone for that. I suspect that the manufacturers who've favored VZW in the past are a bit miffed over VZW's eagerness to bed Apple.

With the rapid growth of Android (more new smartphones are purchased with Android than any other OS) you'd think that VZW would get the hint.

So, ck I know you are usually in the know about what's happening with phones. You hear about the Bionic having trouble passing internal testing? An if so, what's your take on it?

I don't have any information on why it's having a hard time passing internal testing. I do know Verizon is REAL stringent with their testing though. Maybe they want to bloat it up like the TB and the Bionic just doesn't like it. I don't know.

Just from hearing these types of things makes me a little leery though. I may just wait on the Targa.

@Dr01dX you hit the nail on the head with the iPhone statement.

When the iPhone was released the topic in the mod forums was the direction VZW was going to go in. I think it's pretty evident now where their interest's are.

Yeah I wonder if all of these first LTE phones are going to have so much trouble passing testing. I know the iPhone is a solid phone but I kind of wonder why Verizon decided to go in that direction. All signs point to Android becoming the dominant OS plus the manufacturers allow them to bloat the crap out of them. Oh well.
