[ROM] Zero Blur! Zero Lag! rubiX Focused 1.0

Good question! It's tricky.. because the /system partition is mounted read only. So, you can do it one of several ways.

Using Root Explorer (app from market, everyone with root should have this, imho):
--Open Root Explorer
--Navigate to /system/app
--hit the "Mount RW" button at the top to remount the partition as Read/Write
--Rename the file to something/anything, heck, delete it if you want *shrug*
--Hit the "Mount RO" button at the top, to remount partition as Read Only
--Reboot (required for changes to /system/app to be recognized

Then install streets view from Market.

Edit: Crap, I just re-read your post, and now I'm not sure if you were asking HOW to change it, or if you were asking what to change it to!!!
If you're asking the latter, just rename it to anything that isn't a valid .apk.. most people just change the extension from .apk to .bak.

Hope this helps!

Sorry for taking so long to think you for the help! Root Explorer was the hickey and got me all fixed. Now if I could just get my speed dial back.....dancedroid

Well, it's on the issues list... but no promises... :(

Street view fix. Worked for me.

Im on day 6 with this rom and I love the speed. Battery life for me has been worse than stock though.

Every time I reboot the phone I have to jump into airplane mode for a minute, otherwise my cell standby time is always doubled and half of it is with no signal. Since finding this fix battery life has improved but its still worse than stock. I've got all the same apps on this rom. Any suggestions?

bleh, yea, it's included in the bar-mod. Problem is, it's part of a framework file that gets replaced with a theme. :P

I'd prefer not to get into fixing themes.. lol.
Wish there was an easy way to script a patch inside of .zip files.. I'd just throw a patch together to just update the framework-res.apk file. :S

I had your black bar mod before I installed black juice and I'm almost positive I still had floating sliders. Did you change it since its original version? If so, would installing that then re installing black juice work to give me black juice with fixed call sliders?

If you dont mind Sephtin I can modify your theme with the patch and update mine, I didn't notice the slider issue.

Any work I've done is fair game. Credit is nice.. but *shrug* :)

It's two little hovering icons, one green, one red, both with the little phone logos on as normal on them, that you slide to answer. There is no slider visible though. You just grab one and slide it to answer.

As for taking a video, I have no idea how that would be done other than with a second camera, but I can describe it as best as possible:

Going from sleep to the lock screen is maybe 1/2 second to 3/4 second. It is definitely not 1 second or longer. I have never had any annoyances with the phone's response time, even stock. RubiX made it even faster than that though. You won't go wrong getting an X with RubiX Focused.

On the dialer for this ROM, does it have the slide to answer/ignore phone calls or is it like the blur dialer where you just press a button to answer instead?

Also, can someone take a video for me with this running on their Droid X and in the video can you just show the following: Show the phone going from sleep, to the lock screen and you receiving a phone call so I can see the dialer. I want to see these things because I want to see how fast the phones backlight comes on when you press the power/sleep button because on the D1 (current phone) it takes a second or two for the screen to actually show and it can be pretty annoying sometimes. As for the dialer, I just want to see how it is on this ROM.

I'd test these myself, but I don't have a Droid X and I plan on getting one, but first I want to see a few things.

Alright, thanks bud. Was just wondering about the dialer because that annoyed me every now and again on my D1 because it would lag/wouldn't let me answer the phone at all sometimes. I also was checking around XDA and noticed that on the DX, you can edit the build.prop to reduce the delay in the screen showing up when you press the home. If I post the line you need to edit in build.prop, can you possibly test it for me to see if it actually makes a real-life difference?

I believe the fix is for the sensor, not the home button?
iirc, it shortens the amount of time it takes for the screen to turn on when you move the phone away from your face.

BTW, when hitting the home screen, it's nearly instant from sleep for me. Maybe you should hit up a verizon store, and try the phone.. then imagine everything being way faster, cleaner, blurless, and better... that's Focused.

This may be a noob question... but I installed droid x bootsraper before... then installed this rom and that app is gone! and a few other apps are too.

Was suppose to back up somehow? and how would I do it? because now i need to pay $2 again! Also where is the original camera!? the one that came with froyo.... the one i have no has the gray on each side and no settings for megapixels, am i missing the camera.apk?

You don't have to pay $2 again, if you logged into the same Google account and you look for the app in the market place you'll be able to download it again without paying.

Just to elaborate a little more...

This is linked to the PRIMARY (or first of several) gmail accounts that you associated with the phone. If you log in with another gmail account FIRST and THEN your main one, you will not see the apps. It's all tied to that first gmail account, unfortunately.

ok ive been searching since i installed this for the stock camera. i cannot take panoramic pictures with the one that came with this rom. can anybody help me?

BTW, the AOSP camera DOES have a Picture Size option... hit the settings button (top right), and SCROLL DOWN (not immediately obvious...). You'll see it!

I actually prefer the AOSP camera to the Blur camera... AND the entire point and focus (pun intended) of this ROM, is to remain BLURLESS. The only things missing in the AOSP camera from the Blur Camera (that I know of), are wide screen pics, and Panorama assist.

As per previous post, if you DO want some of the blur (etc.) components back, status of those is available in the post he linked. Here it is again (shameful plug, lol):

You can just reflash rubix 1.0 without wipeing data/cache. I just did this too.

First thing I would do.. is wait. If the services.jar file is changed in the theme, it can cause slow reboots, as well as the phone being slow for a little bit. Give it a bit, then reboot, and see if it's still laggy like that.

Note: I don't have the theme.. so I'm not 100% sure.

In any case, the FIRST place I would ask this question, is actually on the theme's thread, not here. ;)
