Second Android Update 2.2 Froyo (FRG22 Rolling) Out Now

There's always a margin of error, so not "every" phone will get it. Plus if you do that the update will never end because of the number of phones getting pushed back to 2.1, 2.0.1 and 2.0 with the SBF files kicking around, both officially and unofficially.

ya seems dubious to me as well ... has it even been confirmed that frg01 hit every one not rooted or manually updated?

I mean with the adobe shindig in swing one might imagine vzw pushin frg22 even while fr01 is still rollin' but I personally doubt it
I can't confirm for everyone, but I can say that my DEV Droid that isn't activated or tied to an account (has no service) actually got the OTA. I was shocked. Of course SPRecovery blocked it, and I grabbed the file (it's identical to the one we already had).

Will you get this if manually installed?

Are you talking about the last update? If so, the answer is yes.

So are you saying if I manually install Flash 10.1 I will still get the Flash 10.1 over the air once Vz sends it to my phone?

VZW isnt sending flash. They are sending an upgrade to the latest version of froyo (A Patch) that will enable you to download flash from the android market.

I thought i smelled something :painkiller:

Can't find hide-nor-hair of this puppy anywhere...dubious that it has been sent out as of this a.m., contrary to the thread's OP.

It seems like the only ota's sent yesterday proved to be of previous builds...

My Droid has FRG22 manual (rooted) install on it. Last week (on 8/19) I got notice that my phone needed the system update, and it tried to install a ~79 MB file. SPRecovery blocked it, and I thought I was good to go. Yesterday evening (8/24) around 7pm, I got another notice, and another ~79 Mb file update, which I let SPRecovery block as well. So it looks like VZW is still trying to push FRG01b onto my phone.

However, my wife's Droid has the manual FRG01B upgrade, and she has not gotten any notifications for upgrade as of yet, of any kind.

So it seems to me that Verizon is sending one last push to non-FRG01B users yesterday before they start sending this small ~1.6Mb FRG22D push. Guess we'll know soon enough.

My GPS on my Droid has been acting up lately, trying not to connect.

I may have to try this update to see if it fixes it....will hold out as long as I can for a rooted version tho...

recently received 2.2 froyo update on my motorola droid. everything seems to be working fine, except watching movies that are in the mp4 format. these movies worked very smooth under 2.1 (original system on phone), but now they play jerky, like the frame rate is too slow. i've redone the movies in mp4 format numerous times, and tried different movies to no avail. has anyone out there encountered these symptoms? does anyone know of a fix. really like the phone, other than this glitch.

What video player are you using. I use Act 1 and Rock Player and both work fine for my videos.

i have act1 and of course the default player that is in the gallery. with both apps the problem is the same.

Okay let me try this again. Will I get the update to froyo if I manually install flash 10.1? Also if I install flash will I be able to install future updates to flash from the market?

A manual update will not prevent any future update/upgrade/bug/bugfix/hairloss you may experience unless you have root/Rogaine. The worst you'll have to do is manually uninstall Flash/apply the Rogaine.

Flash has nothing to do with updates to the OS in your phone. If this isn't what you're asking, please rephrase so I know what you are asking.
