So I'm reading Droid-life.com and the comments regarding his chart...and a LOT of Android people are sounding REALLY dire about the hate towards the iphone..
KELLEX [Droid-life owner] --
People will go buy the iPhone 4 the day it's released because they don't know any better. Now they do.
Some Guy From Engadget:
First of all you are saying that the iPhone 4 is old hardware, but we really need to look at how fast the iPhone ages vs Android. The iPhone is guaranteed to get new software for the next two years, whereas on android you have to hope you get any update. Dual core? How many apps on the android phone are going to be able to take advantage of that hardware. The hardware is only as good as the software. Android still is buggy (I had a Droid X), so is the iPhone (especially in the keyboard), but there are still less bugs on the iPhone then there are on android. Android wins in customization of the home screen no doubt. And Kellex, there are many people (like me) who will buy the iPhone 4 knowing there will be a new one soon because we are willing to pay off contract. I sold my Droid X (kept my og droid) for 400, will buy the iPhone 4 off contract, and then buy the iPhone 5 (or android if there is a better phone software and hardware wise than the iPhone, unlike many other readers I am open to new options and not restricted to a single android mindset) in October when my contract is up. I realize I am in a special situation but there are many people who would rather not wait knowing their iPhone will be supported for many years to come. Before I get 20 replies saying that I am a troll, I am not. I believe android and iOS are both very good operating systems but FOR ME, the iPhone is better. By the way, what idiot made the chart, what android os does the iPhone run :-(.
So many Valid points made.
Which I thought summed up the ENTIRE day...
"let's be mature about this. More you guys discredit the iPhone, more it tells me how threatened by some of us are by what iPhone started in its first place. Why can't we just embrace having all the great smartphones on one of the most reliable network and celebrate? When it all comes down to it, it's all about personal preference.
I can't wait to find out what iPhone 5 will feature and I know for certain that I'm not the only one, but I'm sure most of us that read this won't be man enough to admit it. Such a shame. Go Android phones and go iPhone!"
