Verizon Set to Alter their Upgrade Policy

Well I'm pissed! I called VZW of course they "claim" to have no idea what I'm taking about. Stating it must be a rumor. The fact that annual upgrades are going away is another attempt to get people to upgrade less and there for they lose less on the subsidiary price. They DON'T WANT existing customer to upgrade. If a customer has a old 1-2 yr old phone, they don't care. If the customer pays the bill that's all that matters.

Can't edit. But another thing they LOOSE money when they subsidize the cost. This way the ONLY move if you want to upgrade in a year or less you MUST pay full retail then they loose no money on the upgrade and you still are stuck in a 2 yr contract. Win-win for VZW. They'd get rid of subsidize pricing all together if they could and still may in the future.

This is why if you're eligible now, you might want to sign a new contract prior to Jan 16th. (Doesn't give you much time between CES and the cut-off.)

I agree I'm not eligible myself until June or September. (it's complicated) for 1 yr annual upgrades. But Once I or anyone else upgrades AFTER Jan 16th they cannot upgrade again until the 2 yr is up on a subsidized cost. If you can upgrade now do it. If not REMEMBER If you hold on to that upgrade then you can upgrade now or anytime (if eligible now).

Yeah, I say we all just keep with the phones we have for the next 2, 3, 4 years... see how much they like it then. My parents have had the same flip phones forever, no data, no text, nothing, and they have NO PLANS to upgrade.

Its too late...we learned about rooting, roms, hack, angry birds, themes....we are already charging ahead. If you were to try to get out in front of the crowd you would be trampled to death...so only thing is to either stay at home or go with the crowd.

It probably doesn't even affect me that much anyways. I just got my X in October, took advantage of my New Every Two. I am eligible for NE2 AGAIN, because my contract is already in place... and I wasn't planning on upgrading before then anyways.
